JEE Advanced 2021 dates: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced the JEE Advanced 2021 dates. He tweeted, “JEE (Advanced) 2021 examination for admission in #IITs will be held on October 3, 2021.”

Earlier, the JEE Advanced was scheduled to be conducted on July 3 but it has been postponed by the authorities due to the growing COVID-19 cases across the country. The minister also tweeted that the exam will be conducted adhering to all COVID-protocols. Candidates can check the Union Education Minister’s tweet below.

Earlier, the compulsory eligibility criteria of scoring a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in class 12 (for reserved category, it was 65%) has been scrapped by the authorities. In addition to that, candidates who have qualified for the JEE Main last year and were also eligible to appear for it but couldn't appear for it due to the COVID-19 are also permitted to directly participate in the JEE Advanced 2021.

JEE Advanced is conducted by either of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) every year for admission to the premier engineering institutes in India. Students have to be among the top 2.5 qualified candidates of JEE Main examination to be eligible to appear for the examination.

In 2020, with the outbreak of the pandemic, many students had reached out to the Education Minister and the IITs to allow for relaxation in the number of attempts clause of the JEE Advanced eligibility

The dates for JEE Main 2021 remaining sessions has been announced last month and the third session of the exam is going on. JEE Main is the entrance exam conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes at the IIITs, NITs and other CFTIs across the country.
