IIT Bombay has dropped 2 questions, 1 each from paper 1 and paper 2. The JEE Advanced 2022 answer key has been released at jeeadv.ac.in today.

Marks calculation subject-wise: The marks obtained by a candidate in Physics in JEE Advanced 2022 will equal the marks scored in the Physics part of Paper 1 plus the marks scored in the Physics part of Paper 2. 

Aggregate marks calculation: The aggregate marks obtained by a candidate in JEE (Advanced) 2022 will be the sum of the marks awarded to the candidate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Marks obtained in Chemistry and Mathematics will be calculated in the same way.

Only those candidates who score the minimum prescribed marks in each subject and also in aggregate will be included in the rank list. The minimum prescribed marks vary with the category as shown in the following table.

JEE Advanced 2022 qualifying candidates are granted admission into undergraduate courses leading to a bachelor's, Integrated master's, Bachelor-Master Dual Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Architecture.

Students found the overall level of paper to be Moderate & Lengthy. Paper-2 was Lengthy & but overall Easier compared to Paper-1 held in the 1st Shift. Chemistry was Easy, and Physics & Mathematics were Moderate to Tough Level & Lengthy. The subject-wise analysis of the paper by experts is

• Chemistry (Easy). Balanced Section. In Physical Chemistry, there were questions from Electrochemistry, Mole Concept, Surface Chemistry, Thermodynamics & Chemical Kinetics. Organic Chemistry was well distributed with more mixed concept-based questions.  No direct questions in Inorganic Chemistry, there were questions from p-block especially reaction based.
• Physics (Moderate & Lengthy) There were more concept based and covered all chapters.  Students reported this section to be Moderate. Questions were asked from Optics, Kinematics, Work Power & Energy, Rotational Motion, Thermodynamics mixed with Surface Tension, Current Electricity, Electrostatics, and Magnetism. Mixed concepts questions took more time, so some students found this section lengthy.
• Mathematics (Moderately & Lengthy) There were more questions from Calculus & Coordinate Geometry. Questions were mixed concept questions clubbing two chapters asked from Functions & Progressions, Application of Derivatives clubbed with Differential Equation, Circle clubbed with Trigonometry, Vectors clubbed with Matrices, and some direct questions from Hyperbola, Ellipse, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Definite Integration with Inverse of function. Questions had lengthy calculations.

To check scores using the JEE Advanced answer key, candidates have to follow the marking scheme of the exam. The marking scheme of the exam is displayed on the JEE Advanced online question paper.

The broad types of questions that are asked in JEE Advanced are:

• Single correct
• Multiple correct
• Numerical type
• Paragraph type
• Matrix match type
• Question stem (Paragraph type question with answer in numerical form) - new in 2021

There are questions of 1 mark, 2 marks, 3 marks and 4 marks. There are also questions with negative markings of -1, -2, etc. Candidates must read the instructions on the question paper properly regarding the marking scheme.

To calculate the score using JEE Advanced answer key, candidates must know the marking scheme. This year's making scheme is as follows:

Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 had 3 parts, they are:

• Part 1 - Physics
• Part 2 - Chemistry
• Part 3 - Maths

Each part had 3 sections in both papers 1 and 2, which are as follows:

Section 1:

• This section contains EIGHT (08) questions.
• The answer to each question is a NUMERICAL VALUE.
• For each question, enter the correct numerical value of the answer using the mouse and the on­screen virtual numeric keypad in the place designated to enter the answer. If the numerical value has more than two decimal places, truncate/round­off the value to TWO decimal places.
• Answers to each question will be evaluated according to the following marking scheme:
  • Full Marks: +3 ONLY if the correct numerical value is entered
  • Zero Marks: 0 In all other cases

Section 2:

Section 3:

• This section contains FOUR (04) Matching List Sets.
• Each set has ONE Multiple Choice Question.
• Each set has TWO lists: List­I and List­II.
• List­ I has Four entries (I), (II), (III) and (IV) and List­II has Five entries (P), (Q), (R), (S) and (T).
• FOUR options are given in each Multiple Choice Question based on List­I and List­II and ONLY ONE of these four options satisfies the condition asked in the Multiple Choice Question.
• Answers to each question will be evaluated according to the following marking scheme:
  • Full Marks: +3 ONLY if the option corresponding to the correct combination is chosen;
  • Zero Marks : 0   If none of the options is chosen (i.e. the question is unanswered);  
  • Negative Marks: −1  In all other cases.
