JEE Main 2021: Students writes to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan demanding postponement of Phase 4 attempt
Several students has written to Education Minister Dharmedra Pradhan to reschedule JEE Main 2021 May exam and provide at least 15 days gap between session 3 and 4 exam.
The demand for postponement of JEE Main 2021 has once again picked up, this time due to a one day gap between the session 3 and 4 exams. Several students across the country have come forward in support of postponing the JEE Mains 2021 May exam. Students are taking over Twitter with #reshceduleJEEMains and other social media platforms requesting the new Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to reschedule the session 4 exam.
The dates of JEE Main 2021 session 3 and 4 was announced on July 6. As per the schedule of JEE Main 3rd and 4th attempt, there is only one day gap between two exams with session 3 ending on July 25 and session 4 beginning on July 27. NTA generally provides at least 15-20 days gap between the two exams. Students are demanding at least 15 days gap between JEE Main 2021 phase 3 and 4 exams. Students have also written that the JEE Main 2021 phase 4 exam dates are also clashing with several other exams of different levels which will create a sense of confusion.
A Students body has also written an open letter to the new Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to reconsider the dates for session 4 exam. The gap between JEE Main 2021 session 3 and 4 is crucial from students point of view. Students analyze their mistakes in previous attempts and then rectify them, so as to gain confidence and prepare for the next attempt. Providing only a one day gap does not serve the purpose of conducting the exam in 4 attempts. It is understandable that in order to minimize the loss of academic canlendar, the gap has to be shrunk but just one day gap will create anxiety among students for the phase 4 exam.
Will JEE Main May 2021 be postponed again?
The request for postponement of JEE Main 2021 phase 4 has gained considerable support from students throughout the country. Several requests and letter have also been written to Education Minister demanding his intervention in the matter. Although students are requesting on a fair note of providing just a one day gap will create problems among students who will be appearing in both the attempts, no information either from the minister or NTA has been announced in this regard.
One other stronger side of this postponement request is supported by the fact that most JEE aspirants are less than 18 years of age and have not been vaccinated. There are also speculations on third wave of COVID-19 hitting India anytime soon and is assumed that children will be the most effected in this third wave. A new βDeltaβ varinat of Corona Virus has been detected in several parts of the country. A few states like Kerala and Maharashtra has seen sudden spike in new cases. All these adds up to the postponement request making it even stronger.

Think about us new edu minister totally unfair decision given only 1 day gap btw 3 and 4 attempts please make good decision now@dpradhanbjp @DG_NTA
#RescheduleJEEMains There should have been a gap of at least 15 days between the 3 rd and the 4th attempt.

Majorly for the ones who are suffering from covid and are not vaccinated and hence cannot give the July attempt.

We understand this situation but there's only 2day gap this is so unfair..
This season we didn't get proper coaching because of covid that's why we need so more time
Plz try to understand
#RescheduleJEEMains please increase the gap between 3rd and 4th attempt atleast 15 days gap should be there. With only two days gap there is no meaning of taking 3rd and 4th attempt.
