JEE Main 2026 January 28 LIVE Updates: NTA will hold the last JEE Main exam for paper 1 TODAY, January 28. The candidates scheduled to appear for the exam on January 28 in shift 1 should reach the exam centre by 7 am. The gates will close at 8:30 am, and the exam will start at 9 am. Students should carry all required documents, including the printed admit card and a valid original ID proof. JEE Mains 28 January Dress Code and Exam Day Guidelines
For the exam to be held on January 28, there is no specific dress code by NTA for male and female students. However, NTA has officially stated that shoes with a thick sole and garments with large buttons are not allowed. Also, Sikh candidates are allowed to carry religious or customary attire such as a Kara or Kirpan.
Apart from that, there is no specific dress code candidates have to follow on the exam day.

Before leaving for the exam, candidates must ensure that they carry all mandatory items as prescribed by NTA:
- JEE Main 2026 Admit Card
- Valid Photo Identity Proof same as the one uploaded in the online application form
- Two Passport-size Photograph
- Photo verification certificate - Only for those candidates who have received an email from NTA.
Do not carry:

JEE Mains 2026 Jan 28 LIVE: Dress Code for Males
Similar to the female students, male candidates should take care of some rules when it comes to the JEE Main dress code:
- Opt for a light sweater or a thin sweatshirt.
- Plain jeans or simple trousers are allowed. Ensure they are basic and do not have excessive pockets, metallic studs, or heavy chains.
- Wear simple slippers, floaters, or open-toe sandals with low soles. You may wear thin cotton socks if necessary.
- Avoid heavy jackets, padded coats, trench coats, or hoodies with thick linings.
- Do not wear any clothing with metallic zippers, large decorative buttons, badges, or metal-threaded embroidery.
- All accessories like caps, mufflers, scarves, stoles, and belts should be avoided.
- Strictly avoid all jewellery, including rings, bracelets, watches (digital or analogue) and neck chains.
NTA has not mentioned any specific dress code officially, other than "Shoes with a thick sole and garments with large buttons are not allowed. Also, Sikh candidates are allowed to carry religious or customary attire such as a Kara or Kirpan."

JEE Mains 2026 Jan 28 LIVE: Dress Code for Females
The candidates who are appearing for JEE Main 2026 exam on Jnauary 28, must note that, NTA has officially sated the following instructions about the dress code:
Shoes with a thick sole and garments with large buttons are not allowed. Also, Sikh candidates are allowed to carry religious or customary attire such as a Kara or Kirpan.
However, to increase the chances of a smooth frisking process at the exam centre, the female students should follow the following:
- Opt for a light sweater, a thin sweatshirt, or a plain cardigan.
- Wear lain jeans (without metallic studs or chains), simple trousers, or warm leggings/jeggings.
- Wear simple slippers or open flat sandals. If you may wear socks for warmth, choose thin cotton ones that are easy to inspect.
- Avoid underwired bras, as they might cause problems during frisking.
- Try to avoid any kind of jewellery.
- Do not carry scarves or any other accessories.

When will JEE main 2026 Session 1 Result be Declared?
NTA has officially announced that the JEE Main 2026 January session result will be out by February 12 at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Note that the January session result will not have the All India Rank and the cutoff. These details will be available with the JEE main April attemot result.

Official NTA JEE Main Answer Key 2026 Date
It is expected that NTA will issue the JEE Mains official answer keys in the first week of February 2026. The answer keys will have correct answers to all questions asked in the exam which will help students calculate their mosr probable score in the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exams.

JEE Main 28 Jan 2026 exam LIVE: Shift 1 Exam Starts at 9 am
The January 28 exam for JEE Main 2026 January session will be held tomorrow. This is the last day of the BE/Btech exam.
All candidates must report to the allotted exam centre as per the time given on their admit card.
The exam will be held in CBT mode and for paper 1 (BE/BTech) candidates.
Candidates should carry all important documents on the exam day, which include:
- Admit card along with filled in Self Declaration
- Two passport-size photo
- Any one photo ID proof among – valid School Identity Card/ PAN card / Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (with photograph)/ e-Aadhaar with photograph/ Class 12 Board Admit Card with photograph/ Bank Passbook with Photograph.
- Medical certificate (for PwD/PwBD candidates to avail scribe service)
There are two question types in JEE Main exam. Multiple choice questions and numerical ability questions. In MCQ, every question has 4 options with only 1 correct answer. Select the correct option. In numerical ability question type, no options are there. Solve them and write answer using keyword and mouse.
In JEE Main, Mathematics is the first section, followed by Physics and Chemistry. But in the exam, candidates can appear for any section first as per their preference.
