JEE Main 2026 January 29 Paper 2 Live Updates: NTA is conducted the JEE Main 2026 BArch and BPlan exam today in a single shift. JEE Mains 2026 Session 1 Paper 2 for BArch and BPlan was held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Candidates who appeared for BArch and BPlan got 30 minutes extra, and their exam timing was 9 am to 12:30 pm. LIVE Now: JEE Main April 2026 Registration
JEE Main 2026 BArch Paper 2 was conducted for admission to undergraduate Architecture (BArch) and Planning (BPlanning) programs at NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).
- Paper 2A (BArch): JEE Main 29 Jan Architecture question paper will include subjects like Mathematics, General Aptitude, and Drawing. The JEE Mains 2026 Question Paper will have 77 questions for a total of 400 marks. While Mathematics and Aptitude are online (CBT), the Drawing test is conducted offline with pen and paper.
- Paper 2B (BPlanning): JEE Main 2026 BPlanning paper has the same subjects as Paper 2A, just the drawing section is replaced with Planning-based questions. It consists of 100 questions (all CBT) for 400 marks.

JEE Mains 29 January Dress Code and Exam Day Guidelines
For the JEE Main Jan 29 Paper 2 exam, there is no specific dress code set by NTA for the students. However, NTA has officially specified that students will not be permitted to appear for the exam with shoes with a thick sole and garments with large buttons. Also, Sikh candidates are allowed to carry religious or customary attire such as a Kara or Kirpan.
Apart from that, there is no other dress code candidates have to follow.

The female candidates at the exam centre should follow the same dress code instructions given by NTA, which is "Shoes with thick sole and garments with large buttons are not allowed".

JEE Main 2026 BArch Live Updates: Dress Code
The candidates who are appearing for JEE Main 2026 exam on January 29, must note that, NTA has officially sated the following instructions about the dress code:
Shoes with a thick sole and garments with large buttons are not allowed. Also, Sikh candidates are allowed to carry religious or customary attire such as a Kara or Kirpan.
However, to increase the chances of a smooth process at the exam centre, students can follow this
- Opt for light sweater, a thin sweatshirt, or a plain cardigan.
- Wear plain jeans (without metallic studs or chains), simple trousers, or warm leggings/jeggings.
- Wear simple slippers or open flat sandals. If you may wear socks for warmth, choose thin cotton ones that are easy to inspect.
- Try to avoid any kind of jewellery.
- Do not carry scarves or any other accessories.

NTA has officially announced that the JEE Main 2026 January session result will be out by February 12 at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Note that the January session result will not have the All India Rank and the cutoff. These details will be available with the JEE main April attemot result.

JEE Main 2026 Jan 29 Live Updates: Official Answer Key
It is expected that NTA will issue the JEE Mains official answer keys in the first week of February 2026. The answer keys will have correct answers to all questions asked in the exam which will help students calculate their mosr probable score in the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exams.

JEE Main Jan 29 Paper 2 Exam Live: Exam Starts at 9:00 AM
The JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 January session will be held tomorrow. The paper 2 exam for BArch/BPlanning will be conducted from 9 AM to 12:30 PM.
All candidates must report to the allotted exam centre as per the time given on their admit card.
The exam will be held in CBT mode and for paper 1 (BE/BTech) candidates.
Candidates should carry all important documents on the exam day, which include:
- Admit card along with filled in Self Declaration
- Two passport-size photo
- Any one photo ID proof among – valid School Identity Card/ PAN card / Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (with photograph)/ e-Aadhaar with photograph/ Class 12 Board Admit Card with photograph/ Bank Passbook with Photograph.
