JEE Main 2026 Jan 29 Paper 2 BArch, BPlan Live: Memory Based Questions, Analysis and Student Reactions

• Electronic Devices - Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, earphones, or any electronic gadgets.

In JEE Mains 2026 Paper 2A (BArch), there will be 77 questions, including Math, Aptitude, and Drawing.

For Paper 2B (B.Plan), there are 100 questions (Math: 25, Aptitude: 50, Planning: 25).

JEE Main Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), there are 75 questions (25 each in Physics, Chemistry, and Math). There are 20 MCQs and 5 Numerical Value Questions (NVQs) per subject, totalling 300 marks.

Candidates can use JEE Mains 2026 login to re-download the JEE Mains session 1 attempt admit card. It’s recommended to keep multiple copies of the JEE Main admit card as backup.

Candidates need to carry all mandatory documents on the JEE Main 2026 exam day. Documents required to appear for JEE Mains 2026 exam include:

• Hard copy of JEE Main hall ticket with the filled self-declaration and non-Aadhaar declaration (if required)
• Valid photo ID proof (same as uploaded during online registration) in ORIGINAL. Photocopy or digital copy of the ID proof in not accepted at JEE Main exam centre.
• 2 photographs same as the ones uploaded in the application form
• Photo verification document (for candidates who received an email from NTA)
• PWD certificate, if required.

NTA has officially announced that the JEE Main 2026 January session result will be out by February 12 at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Note that the January session result will not have the All India Rank and the cutoff. These details will be available with the JEE main April attemot result.

It is expected that NTA will issue the JEE Mains official answer keys in the first week of February 2026. The answer keys will have correct answers to all questions asked in the exam which will help students calculate their mosr probable score in the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exams.

Yes, the candidates must apply separately for both sessions. The session 2 registration will begin soon.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made the facility to use the Digilocker app/Aadhaar during JEE Main registration 2026. Although it is not mandatory for all candidates, those who can use the DigiLocker can make use of the facility to upload certificates during the JEE Main application process.

Yes, the exam pattern and the syllabus remain the same in both sessions. 

JEE Main Session 2 is the April Session of the JEE Main 2026. The exam will be conducted from April 2 to 9, 2026. The registration for session 2 will begin soon. 

Yes, BArch and BPlanning who qualify in JEE Mains 2026 can participate in JoSAA counselling. After the counselling they are given admission in NITs and SPAs

AIR is released after JEE Main 2026 Session 2, when both sessions' best scores are considered.

No, the raw marks are the actual scores of candidates, while the percentile is the relative performance among candidates.

The percentile is calculated using the normalisation process. NTA uses a formula to calculate the percentile. The percentile is calculated by comparing the scores of the candidates.

A candidate can appear up to three consecutive years, with two attempts each year.

The provisional answer key for JEE Main 2026 Jan 29 BArch and BPlan is usually released a few days after the exam on the NTA website. 

Based on the difficulty level of the exam, the following is considered a good score in JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 BArch. This is the score out of 400. 

If the drawing section is not attempted, the candidates' BArch will be affected. Therefore, it is mandatory to attempt the drawing. 

JEE Main scorecard, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets, category certificate and photo ID are required.

After the exam, NTA will release the answer key and results on the official website. JEE Mains 2026 qualified candidates can participate in the JoSAA counselling. 

For NITs, SPAs and many government-aided institutions, JEE Main BArch is mandatory. The government and private colleges conduct other architecture exams for BArch admission. 

Yes, candidates can appear for both BArch and BPlanning. They must meet the eligibility criteria for both courses. 

There is negative marking in the mathematics and aptitude sections. The drawing section is evaluated based on the creativity, proportion and drawing skill. 

Blank paper sheets for rough work of A4 size will be provided in the JEE Mains exam hall.

Important instructions for candidates:

• Candidates must write their name and Roll Number at the top of each of the sheets.
• After the exam, they must drop the sheet(s) in the designated drop box without fail, before leaving the exam hall. Failure to do so may result in a non-evaluation of your answers.

The facility to challenge JEE Main Answer Key 2026 Paper 2 Session 1 is made available online on the same day when the answer key is released. To challenge the answer key, candidates have to login in the official website. Check the procedure to challenge the answer key below

• Open the official website 
• Click on JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 Answer Key
• Login using Application form number and password
• Answer key with correct option ID and the option selected by candidate will be displayed on screen
• For challenging the key, click on raise objections
• Select the question ID which want to challenge and select the answer which you deem correct
• Submit the challenge and pay the fee   

After successfull submission, NTA will review the challenges and will publish the final answer key. Candidates must note that challenges will not be accepted in final JEE Main Answer Key 2026 Paper 2. 

Session 2 of JEE Main 2026 will be held between April 2 and 9, and the registrations will commence by January 31, tentatively.

 The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the JEE Main result 2026 by February 12. The JEE Main result 2026 link will be activated on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in.

National Testing Agency is expected to released provisional answer key for JEE Main 2026 session 1 soon. As per past year’s trends, it is expected that the JEE Main provisional answer key can be released by the first week of February 2026.

As per NTA reports, around 13,00,368 students have appeared for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam as of January 28. Also, 4314 PwD candidates appeared for the exam. There was a 96.26% attendance for the JEE Main Session 1. 

As per NTA official guidelines, apart from the biometric attendance and frisking at the JEE Main 2026 centre entry, if a candidate goes bio-break/toilet, they have to undergo the mandatory frisking and biometrics again.

JEE Main 2026 January 29 BArch exam is held today. The exams started at 9 and will end at 12:30 noon.

All candidates scheduled to appear for JEE Main 2026 Jan 29 exam are undergoing the frisking process. The gates are to be closed at 8:30 am.

For the JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 exam, candidates began reporting to their respective exam centres. The entry gates will close at 8:30 am for the exam.

The female candidates at the exam centre should follow the same dress code instructions given by NTA, which is "Shoes with thick sole and garments with large buttons are not allowed".

Thus, make sure you are wearing:

•  Light top/sweater or a thin sweatshirt
• Plain jeans or simple trousers with no or fewer pockets. Warm leggings/jeggings are allowed.
• Wear simple slippers or open flat sandals.

Avoid these:

• Avoid heavy jackets, padded coats, trench coats, or hoodies with thick linings, and multiple layers of thick clothing.
• Do not wear sweaters or cardigans with metallic zippers, large decorative buttons, or metal-threaded embroidery.
• Strictly avoid all jewellery, including rings, bracelets, watches (digital or analogue) and neck chains.
• Caps, hats, mufflers, stoles, and scarves should be avoided inside the centre.
• Avoid underwired bras, as they might cause problems during frisking

JEE Main Jan 29 exam for BArch/BPlanning will start at 9 am. Check below the important tips to follow on exam day:

• Make the most of your time; don't let yourself get stuck on one question. Focus on the questions that you feel confident answering. 
• Carefully read all the instructions to prevent simple mistakes, like filling out answer sheets incorrectly or missing parts of the test. 
• Trust your first choice for an answer, and only rethink it if you feel certain there's an error. 
• Remember to stay calm and relaxed. If you start to feel anxious, take a moment to drink some water and take deep breaths

Candidates appearing for JEE Mains 2026 exam today must carry a hard copy of hall ticket along with other documents. A digital copy of JEE Main 2026 admit card will not be allowed inside the test centre. Candidates failing to carry a physical copy of the JEE Main admit card will face denial in entry to the examination hall.

As per the official reporting time, candidates must report at the JEE Main 2026 test centre 2 hours before the exam start time. Candidates will be allowed inside the JEE Main test centre at 7 AM. Although entry inside test centre starts 2 hours before the exam, candidates must enter the JEE Main exam hall at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.

Candidates who are appearing for JEE Main 2026 exam today, January 29, must avoid guesswork. Each incorrect response marked by the candidates will bring a negative marking. With negative marking in place, candidates will get a score deducted for cases where they don't know the answer yet attempts the question. Also, take care of the time spent on each question. 

Candidates need to carry all mandatory documents on the JEE Main 2026 exam day. Documents required to appear for JEE Mains 2026 exam include:

JEE Main January 29 exam will be held in single shifts. Gates at JEE Main exam centres close 30 minutes before the test starts. JEE Main January 29 exam will commence from 9 AM. Therefore, the test centre officials will close the gates at 8:30 AM. 

No candidate will be allowed to enter the JEE Main exam centre once the gates are closed.

The candidate must enter the required details on the attendance sheet in legible handwriting.

• They have to put their signature, Left Hand Thumb Impression, and paste the Photograph at the appropriate place during the examination.
• Candidates have to ensure that their Left-Hand Impression is clear and not smudged.

The candidate should ensure that the JEE Mains 2026 question paper available on the computer screen is as per their opted subject/medium indicated in the admit card.

In case the subject/medium of the question paper is other than their opted option, they must report the issue to the Invigilator at the exam hall.

Apart from that, candidates should listen carefully to all the instructions given to them at the exam hall by the invigilators at all times.

The candidates who have not registered forthe  JEE Main 2026 exam with Aadhaar have to follow the following instructions:

Live photo mistmatch: Candidates whose live photographs did not match with the photographs available in their Aadhaar during the filling of the application form or those who registered using any other identity proof must carry the photo verification certificate in original duly signed/attested by the Principal /Head Master or any Class-I Gazetted Officer, such as Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, SDM, DM/Class-I Gazetted Officer ofthe Indian Embassy (for NRI candidates), as per format shared in their registered email IDs of the candidates.

Non aadhaar declaration form: A Non-Aadhaar declaration form is available on the 4th page of the admit card. Candidates should fill it and carry at the exam centre tomorrow.

Candidates must check the following as indicated on the JEE Main admit card 2026 before attending the exam today:

1. Date of Examination
2. Shift and Timings of Test
3. Venue of Test
4. Reporting Time at Centre
5. Gate closing time of the Centre

For the JEE Main 2026 January 29 Paper 2 exam, candidates have to report at the exam centre at 7. 

On January 29, 2026 exam will be conducted for BArch and BPlanning. The exam will be held in a single shift from 9 am to 12:30 PM.

The candidates who are appearing for JEE Main 2026 exam on January 29, must note that, NTA has officially sated the following instructions about the dress code:

Shoes with a thick sole and garments with large buttons are not allowed. Also, Sikh candidates are allowed to carry religious or customary attire such as a Kara or Kirpan.

However, to increase the chances of a smooth process at the exam centre, students can follow this 

• Opt for light sweater, a thin sweatshirt, or a plain cardigan. 
• Wear plain jeans (without metallic studs or chains), simple trousers, or warm leggings/jeggings.
• Wear simple slippers or open flat sandals. If you may wear socks for warmth, choose thin cotton ones that are easy to inspect.
• Try to avoid any kind of jewellery.
• Do not carry scarves or any other accessories.

3. Any one photo ID proof among – valid School Identity Card/ PAN card / Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (with photograph)/ e-Aadhaar with photograph/ Class 12 Board Admit Card with photograph/ Bank Passbook with Photograph.
