JEE Main 2026 Notification Soon; Reports Suggest Exam City Choice May Be Removed
Media reports suggest that JEE Main 2026 examinees may not be able to choose their preferred exam city while filling the form. Official confirmation on this matter will be released on nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Media reports say the National Testing Agency is planning to introduce a major change in the upcoming JEE Main 2026 exam where students may not be allowed to choose their exam city. An official confirmation is awaited. While a similar provision has been observed in the INI CET 2025 registration process, where candidates can only choose a state and no city preferences. The authorities might also consider auto-fetching of data through the Aadhar number. This is highly likely as the authorities issued an advisory asking all applicants to update their Aadhaar and other documents before the registration process.
According to the reportedly new provision, the NTA would automatically allocate the exam cities based on their address details the students have given on the Aadhaar card. This will make the application form fill-up easier but will take away the candidate's choice for the exam cities.
