The third session of JEE Main 2021 concluded today (July 27). Read below to know the difficulty level of the JEE Main shift 2 exam and reaction of the test takers. 

Candidates who appeared for the JEE Main 2021 shift 2 found the exam moderately difficult. 

Nitin Gupta said, “The paper was time-consuming and the overall difficulty was moderate. The maths part was very difficult. There were questions from trigonometry, statistics and relations. Chemistry was easy and there were some questions from NCERT books. More weightage was given to organic chemistry. Physics was not that difficult. Questions were asked on the topics of electrostatics, semiconductors and thermodynamics.” 

Kshitij Mahajan who appeared in the JEE Main shift 2 said, “Both physics and maths sections were difficult. Chemistry was good. It was totally NCERT-based. In physics, there were questions from dimensional analysis, communication, current electricity, semiconductors and magnetism. Maths was very lengthy. There were questions on geometry, trigonometry and vectors.” 

Students who qualify JEE Main 2021 will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2021, which is scheduled to be held on October 3. As per IIT Kharagpur, about 2.5 lakh students will be shortlisted for JEE Advanced 2021. 

The first and second sessions were conducted in February and March, respectively. The third session was held on July 20, 22, 25 & 27 and the fourth session will be held on August 26, 27 & 31 and September 1 & 2, 2021. JEE Main is the engineering entrance exam for admission to NITsIIITs and GFTIs. JEE Main is also the qualifying exam for the JEE Advanced, the only admission test for the IITs. This year, IIT Kharagpur will conduct the JEE Advanced.
