The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main July session Day 2 was concluded today (July 22, 2021). The candidates who have attempted the paper reviewed the overall paper as moderate. Check JEE Main 2021 exam analysis below.

There was no exam in shift 1 (morning) and shift 2 (evening) exam was conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm. There were a total of 90 questions from physics, chemistry and mathematics.

As per the students’ feedback, the physics section was based on more calculative questions. Most of the questions in the chemistry section were from NCERT books. There were questions from organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and biomolecules. The students found the mathematics section difficult.

Rohan who had appeared for the JEE exam today (July 22), said, “The difficulty level of the paper was a little tough as compared to the JEE Main March session. Maths was tough, while the chemistry and physics section were comparatively easy. The chemistry section was totally NCERT based. More weightage was given to geometry and calculus in mathematics.”

Another student Ankush said, the overall difficulty level was moderate. Physics section was moderately easy. In chemistry, equal weightage was given to both organic and inorganic chemistry. Questions were asked from environment chemistry. Most of the questions in maths section were calculative.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the number of cities with JEE Main exam centres has been increased from 232 to 334 and the number of exam centres in each shift has increased from 660 to 828.  

The first and second sessions were conducted in February and March, respectively. The third session is being held on July 20, 22, 25 & 27 and the fourth session will be held on August 26, 27 & 31 and September 1 & 2, 2021.  

Joint Entrance Exam (Main) is the engineering entrance exam for admission to NITsIIITs and GFTIs. JEE Main exam is also the qualifying exam for the JEE Advanced, the only admission test for the IITs. This year, IIT Kharagpur will conduct the JEE Advanced.

The JEE Main cutoff is the minimum percentile score required to qualify for the JEE Advanced exam. Its is released with the April session result.

No. There is no qualifying percentile in JEE Main. However, the candidates who want to appear in JEE Advanced will have to get a minimum qualifying percentile in JEE Mains. This minimum qualifying percentile is announced with the JEE Main session 2 reult.
