How JEE Main result is calculated?

Candidates might be aware that the result of JEE Main is announced in the form of percentile scores and not marks. The score is announced in percentile form to remove any possible parity in terms of difficulty level of questions in the exam held in multiple shifts and days. The percentile score of any candidate is the normalized score calculated using a specially developed formula.

The preparation of JEE Main result is thus a two-fold process. Firstly, the normalized percentile score is calculated individually for all three subjects. Secondly, the aggregate normalized percentile score of all three subjects is calculated. Candidates must note that the aggregate normalized score is not the sum of normalized score of all three subjects but its calculate separately.
