Official cutoff data indicates that IIT Bombay records the highest admission cutoff for the Computer Science course. IIT Delhi follows closely as the second most competitive institution for the same program among candidates participating in the JoSAA counselling process

IITs offer one-year preparatory courses for SC, ST, and PwD candidates when reserved seats remain unfilled. Upon successful completion, students receive direct admission to the first year of the allocated undergraduate program in the next academic year.

Candidates are advised to analyse current cutoffs before finalising Freeze, Float or Slide options for future seat movement opportunities in JoSAA.

The online reporting period for Round 2, which includes document upload, fee payment, and query response, concludes on July 4, 2026. Issues related to fee payments will be resolved by July 5, 2026.

JoSAA opening rank represents the rank at which admission in a specific course and category starts. On the other hand, the JoSAA closing rank is the rank at which admission closes for a particular course and category.

If you don't get a seat in JoSAA Round 2, you do not need to take any action. You are automatically moved to Round 2 with your original choices.
