Engineering aspirants in Karnataka who qualified in the KCET exam face uncertainty as the release of the final seat matrix seems to be delayed, throwing the upcoming counseling schedule into limbo.

The reason behind the delay seems to be due to the absence of Tulasi Maddineni, the recently appointed Principal Secretary to Higher Education Department. As per media sources, Maddineni is on leave until June 30 and has reportedly not handed over her charge to any other official. KEA cannot finalize the seat matrix without department approval. This delay might also affect the July 6 mock allotment deadline for UG and MTech courses.

Because final seat matrix requires official approval from higher education department before being sent to minister, the entire validation process has come to a standstill due to her unexpected absence. The higher education portfolio is currently held by Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, whose final sign-off is needed.
