KEA Debunks Dress Code Rumours Ahead of Kannada Language Test Tomorrow

The KCET exam for the 2026 session starts from tomorrow onwards, with the Kannada Language Test scheduled to be held on April 22. The language test will be conducted between 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at least 35-40 minutes prior to the time to ensure they go through the checking process and are comfortable seated at their designated seat on time. In pursuit of conducting the exam without any hassles, both for the management as well as students, the authorities, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued a final set of dress code guidelines to ensure a smooth and fair examination process.

KEA Executive Director H. Prasanna urged students and parents to remain calm and ignore misleading rumors circulating on social media. Candidates eligible for this test are advised to reach their designated centers well in advance to complete security protocols.

To the KCET exam centre, students must bring a valid government-issued photo ID like - Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Passport. Student's name on the admit card must match the details on ID proof to avoid identity issues.

Q: ย  What is reporting time for KCET exam?

Students must arrive at least 60 to 90 minutes before scheduled time for a smooth biometric verification, security frisking, and locating assigned seat without any hassles.

Q: ย  What is Karnataka CET?

Karnataka CET also known as KCET is state-level entrance exam organised by KEA yearly. The objective is to shortlist students for admission in undergraduate (UG) courses in participating colleges in Karnataka state.

To maintain transparency, KEA has requested students to stick to a "plain and simple" attire, here the some of the options which students must wear, to avoid unnecessary attention and create frisking issues at the exam centre -ย 

  • Simple, comfortable clothing.

  • Avoid wearing full garments covering arms or the entire body.

  • Avoid wearing large or heavy footwear, leather shoes with thick soles etc.ย 

  • Wearing simple sandals or slippers are recommended.

  • Do not carry any heavy jewelry or unnecessary accessories which look flashy and are not very acceptable at the exam center.

KEA emphasized that these measures, including CCTV surveillance, QR code scanning, and live photo capture, are in place to protect the interests of hardworking students.ย

Reach the designated KCET exam center early to accommodate security checks. Do not carry any electronic gadgets, or large sums of cash or wear flashy jewellery at the exam centre. Ensure the hall ticket is accompanied with a valid ID proof ready for the Kannada Language Test, such as aadhar card, voter ID card etc.
