Kumar Mangalam Birla Unveils ₹2,000 Cr BITS Pilani Plan: Amaravati AI+ Campus Launch, Major EdTech and Expansion Push

Kumar Mangalam Birla, industrialist and Chancellor of BITS Pilani announced launch of new AI+ campus at Amravati, earmarks ₹1,219 Cr. for Infrastructure boost and a new ‘BITS Pilani Digital’.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chancellor of BITS Pilani during 2025 convocation announced his vision to transform higher education with three major initiatives: a ₹1,219 crore investment under Project Vistaar to expand its campuses, launch of a next-generation AI+ campus in Amaravati, and debut of ‘BITS Pilani Digital’, a dedicated EdTech platform.

Birla emphasized BITS Pilani’s enduring legacy of innovation and its forward-looking agenda: "This is a pivotal moment in the journey of BITS Pilani. For over six decades, BITS Pilani has been synonymous with academic excellence, pioneering innovation, and nation-building. Through its unwavering focus on quality education and values-driven leadership, the institute has nurtured generations of professionals, thinkers, and entrepreneurs who have played an important role in shaping India’s growth story on the global stage.”
