MHT CET 2025 Counselling: Only 95,253 Students Confirm Seats for Engineering Admission After CAP Round 3
This year through MHT CET counselling only 95,253 of 2.14 lakh registered candidates confirmed engineering admissions after three Maharashtra CET CAP rounds.
Engineering admissions in Maharashtra have reached last round with CET cell releasing MHT CET CAP round 4 seat allotment result 2025. Despite large number of registrations only 95,253 students confirmed their seats after three rounds of MHT CET 2025 counselling. This year total of 2.14 lakh students registered for MHT CET engineering courses while intake capacity across state is 1.83 lakh seats.
This has left 88,507 seats still vacant, highlighting mismatch between number of students applying and actual courses they prefer. The data also shows shift in student preferences with technology driven courses leading way. Branches like AI and Data Science and AI and Machine Learning and Cybersecurity and Robotics have nearly all their seats filled in most institutes in Maharashtra.
MHT CET CAP Round 3, 4 Counselling Admission
In MHT CET round 3 counselling, 1.19 lakh students filled options and 98,253 of them were allotted seats. However, only 30,412 students confirmed their admission through round 3 seat allotment result. As per schedule released, those allotted seats in MHT CET round 4 must confirm their admissions between September 2 and 4. After that, any leftover seats will be filled through spot admissions at institute level.

MHT CET counselling 2025 is over. The schedule of MHT CET counselling registration was announced on the official website and the same can be checked on Shiksha. The MHT CET counselling registration started on June 28 and the last date to register for the counselling was July 11. The last date for documents verification was July 12, 2025.
Candidates who have not applied or still have not appeared in MHT CET can participate in the counselling based on their JEE Main score. Those who do not have MHT CET or JEE Main score can also participate in counselling based on class 12 marks.
