MHT CET 2026 Registrations Yet to Start; Official Update Awaited at cetcell.mahacet.org

According to a local news media report, Commissioner Dilip Sardesai confirmed that the MHT CET 2026 application process will start on January 1, after the testing of the registration portal is completed successfully. However, at the time of publishing this report, CET cell has not yet commenced the MHT CET registrations. Around 6 to 7 lakh candidates register for the Maharashtra CET exam every year.

The state CET cell starts the registration process for the MHT CET exam on the official website cetcell.mahacet.org. The website is currently not hosting the registration link, however, the application process can start anytime soon.

Last year, the CET cell started the application process for Maharashtra CETs on December 30.

This year, there have been some new developments around the MHT CET registrations:

• CET Cell has made Aadhaar authentication and APAAR ID mandatory to register for the CET exams.
• It has also been reported that the MHT CET application fee might increase by INR 150 to 250. Until last year, the MHT CET fee was INR 1000 for general candidates and INR 800 for reserved category candidates from Maharashtra state.

Apart from that, another big update on MHT CET 2026 is that the exam will be held twice.

This year, the MHT CET exam will be held in two sessions, like the NTA JEE Main exam. Session 1 exam will be held from April 11 to 19 for PCM and from April 21 to 26 for PCB. While the session 2 exam has been scheduled from May 14 to 17 for PCM and from May 10 to 11 for PCB.

To apply for the MHT CET exam, candidates will have to register at the CET portal, complete the application form, upload required documents and pay the application fee.
