MHT CET 2026 Seat Matrix Out: Engineering Seats Increased to 1,92,180 Across 380 Institutes

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra, has released the MHT CET 2026 engineering seat matrix for CAP round 1. This year, there is an increase in the engineering admission capacity. A total of 380 participating institutes will offer 1,92,180 BE/BTech seats through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) 2026.
Compared to the previous admission cycle, the state has added 8 new participating institutes, taking the total count from 372 in 2025 to 380 in 2026. With this, the engineering seat availability has also increased significantly, with 1,92,180 seats this year against 1,77,985 seats last year.

Candidates can use the seat matrix to know the total number of seats across government, government-aided, autonomous, university-managed, private unaided and minority engineering colleges. The document also provides branch-wise intake for popular programmes such as Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Electronics & Telecommunication, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.
The CET Cell is conducting the MHT CET option entry for CAP round 1. The last date to fillΒ in the choices is July 30. The authorities will allot seats based on candidatesβ MHT CET merit rank, reservation category, preferences submitted during option entry and seat availability. MHT CAP round 1 allotment date is August 2.
