MHT CET CAP 2026: PCM/PCB Scores Allowed for BBA, BCA, BBM, BMS Admissions
The Maharashtra CET Cell has released the MHT CET CAP 2026 brochure with key changes. MHT CET PCM/PCB scores can now be used for BBA, BMS, BBM and BCA admissions, while the authorities have also expanded admission for direct third and fourth year.
The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra, has released the MHT CET CAP information brochure for the 2026-27 academic session. One of the biggest updates this year is that candidates can now use their MHT CET 2026 scores of PCM or PCB for admission to undergraduate courses, such as, BBA, BMS, BBM and BCA.

Apart from expanding the accepted entrance examinations for these programmes, the latest CAP brochure has also introduced admission pathways for direct third and fourth year.

MHT CET 2026 Scores Accepted for BBA, BMS, BBM and BCA Admissions
As per the revised eligibility conditions mentioned in the CAP 2026 brochure, Maharashtra State candidates seeking admission to BBA, BMS, BBM and BCA programmes can now apply using either the MAH BCA/BBA/BMS/BBM CET 2026 score or the MHT CET 2026, PCM or PCB group score.
For All India candidates, admissions will be based on CUET UG, MAH-BCA/BBA/BMS/BBM CET 2026, or MHT CET 2026, with preference given to CUET scores wherever applicable. This provides candidates with additional options while applying for these undergraduate programmes.
CAP 2026 Expands Admission to Direct 3rd & 4th Year
Another major change in this year's brochure is the inclusion of direct third year and direct fourth year admissions within the CAP framework. Earlier, the CAP brochure covered first and direct second year admissions. Further, the brochure also recognises qualifications such as Under Graduate Certificate and B.Voc. for eligible lateral entry admissions in engineering and technology programmes, wherever applicable.

With 97.5 percentile in MHT-CET, you have a strong chance to get admission in reputed colleges like PICT Pune, VIT Pune, SPIT Mumbai, or Thakur College of Engineering for branches such as IT, ECE, or Electrical. COEP and VJTI may be difficult for CSE. Government colleges like WCE Sangli, SGGS Nanded, and GCOE Amravati are also good options. You can get preferred branches in private colleges and core branches in government ones. Your chances further improve if you belong to a reserved category or have home university advantage within Maharashtra.
Higher and Technical Education department in the year 2023 announced that 50:50 weightage will be given to CET score and Class 12th marks for admission to undergraduate professional courses in Maharashtra state from the academic session 2023-24. As per this criteria, marks of class 12 and MHT CET will be considered for preparing the merit list in 50:50 ratio. Only those candidates who will have their names in the merit list will be considered for admisison.
For the General HS category, the cutoff ranged from 4.33 to 20.54 percentile for M.Tech course specialisations. Therefore, students need to attain at least 4.33 percentile for admissions at COEP Pune. MHT CET M.Tech percentiles are required for admission to M.Tech courses at COEP, Pune.
Students should note that the above mentioned percentile is only valid for the General HS category in the last round. Other rounds and categories will have different minimum qualifying percentiles. To know more, students can click here.
In addition, the sanctioned intake section has been updated. Seat calculations will now apply to first year, direct 2nd/3rd/4th year (lateral entry) admissions. While the inclusion of direct third year and direct fourth year admissions expands the CAP framework, it does not mean that every candidate can directly apply for these entry levels. These admission routes are available only for programmes where such lateral entry is permitted under the Maharashtra Government's admission rules.
