MHT CET CAP 2026 Seat Acceptance Fee Hike Aims to Reduce Seat Blocking

The Maharashtra State CET Cell has clarified that the revised seat acceptance fee for MHT CET CAP 2026 counselling has been introduced to discourage seat blocking and ensure that more deserving candidates get admission opportunities. According to Maharashtra CET Commissioner Dileep Sardesai, many candidates continue to hold allotted seats while waiting for a better college or branch in subsequent counselling rounds. This delays seat movement and reduces the chances of admission for other eligible candidates. The revised fee structure will encourage students to make quicker admission decisions and improve the efficiency of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).
