NIT Rourkela Launches New MTech Programmes for 2026 Session: Admissions through GATE Scores

The National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT) has launched two new MTech course programmes: Semiconductor Devices and Technology, and Machine Learning and Signal Analysis for admission. NIT Rourkela has launched two new MTech programmes for students to gain skills in semiconductor devices, machine learning and signal analysis for the 2026-27 session. With limited seat intake, admissions are offered through GATE scores. This initiative is taken by NIT Rourkela to help meet the demands for professionals along with hands-on laboratory exposure and industry-oriented exposure. 

NIT Rourkela New MTech Programmes: Highlights

Admissions to MTech programmes at NIT Rourkela is done through CCMT. The round 1 registrations for CCMT 2026 counselling or ongoing and the last date to apply is June 5, 2026. Candidates with valid GATE scores are eligible to participate in the counselling process. Final selection will be based of the GD and PI, followed by work experience if any. 

NIT Rourkela MTech Admission through GATE 2026: Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for admission can be checked below -

• Minimum CGPA of 6.5 or minimum 60% marks in B.E/BTech or equivalent exam.

• For reserved categories (SC/ST/PwD), the minimum qualifying CGPA is 6.0 or 55% aggregate marks in B.E/BTech or equivalent exam.
