In the Physic subject students must focus on some of the key topics mentioned below as they account for approximately 40–45% of the Physics questions:
- Heat and Thermodynamics
- Current Electricity
- Modern Physics
- Optics
Chemistry
Chemistry is another crucial subject in the SRMJEEE exam which needs special consideration as the high-weightage topics come from all three branches: Organic, Inorganic, and Physical Chemistry.
While studying In organic chemistry students must focus on reactions involving organic compounds with oxygen and nitrogen, which have a high weightage. In chemical bonding it is important to understand molecular structure and bonding. Thermodynamics and Equilibrium are important for both Physical and Chemical Chemistry sections. d and f-Block Elements plays a significant portion of inorganic chemistry and questions are based on these elements and their properties.
Maths
Now coming to the most important aspect of the SRMJEEE syllabus, which is Mathematics. Maths carries the highest number of questions (40), making it a key section for scoring high.
In maths the most commonly asked questions are from calculus both differential and integral calculus are high-priority. In Algebra the focus must be on complex numbers, quadratic equations, and matrices. In Coordinate Geometry the questions will be based on straight lines and conic sections.
How to prepare for high-weightage topics in SRMJEEE?
While planning your preparation schedule, prioritize and strategize the syllabus to confirm the high-weightage topics and allocate more time and resources to these areas first.
- Focus on conceptual understanding and do not rely solely on memorization. If your concept is clear, you will be able to answer the questions easily, but if you memorise the concepts it will forget everything for you when you look at the paper. Hence, a deep understanding of core concepts will enable you to solve even the most challenging application-based problems.
- While studying, refer to NCERT textbooks.
- When the exam date is near, solve problems regularly, give mock tests and arrange for past year questions. Numericals play a key role in scoring marks so focus on solving as many numericals as you can.
- Use mock tests effectively to identify and work on your weak areas.
- Do revisions regularly, when the exam is specially during the final weeks before the exam.
