To provide quality education to students during this lockdown period, the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) has decided to streamline the online teaching platform.

With the extension in the nationwide lockdown period, the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) has decided to streamline the online teaching platform.

During a meeting with the university officials, A K Roy, Vice-chancellor, TMBU, said that it has been noticed that over a hundred teachers are organizing e-classes and are also providing e-content for students to study while they are at their homes during this lockdown period. However, there is a need to make things more systematic and organized.

β€œThere is a need to screen the content of the study material given to the students as well as the quality of online teaching,” Roy said.

The teachers are conducting classes with the help of available Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities, including learning and social media apps.

"The heads of postgraduate departments besides principals of constituent colleges, have been asked to ensure that the study material is screened well before providing it to the students to make sure that there is no compromise in the quality of teaching," Roy said.

Also, the teachers will now have to submit a weekly report in a prescribed format. The links will be made available to the university by teachers. The email id of university computer centre is being made available to teachers to forward the links, he added.

The study material will be uploaded on the official website of the university and other constituent colleges only after the screening is done, Roy said.

The university is also planning to conduct the pending examinations of different courses from May 15 if the lockdown is uplifted.
