Top 50 engineering colleges in India as per NIRF 2025 ranking: The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has once again released the NIRF 2025 ranking for various categories. This year, in the list of top 50 engineering colleges in India as per NIRF ranking 2025, a trail of IITs stood out in a league of one's own, followed by several private institutes and colleges. The NIRF 2025 ranking was declared on September 4 by the Ministry of Education. The list comprised the latest rankings of the top engineering colleges in India. The NIRF 2025 ranking was announced based on several parameters, including teaching, learning, and resources, research and professional practice, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and peer perception.
This year, once again, the top position is secured by none other than IIT Madras, followed by several IITs, NITs, and some top private colleges in India.
Top Highlights of the NIRF 2025 Rankings
- IIT Madras tops the NIRF 2025 ranking chart, securing a score of 88.72. The institute has been ranked No.1 in the “Engineering Category” for the 10th consecutive year and in the “Overall category” for the 7th consecutive year, tagging its place as a leader in education.
- IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay continue to compete closely for 2nd and 3rd position in the NIRF ranking 2025.
