The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will close the UPTAC 2026 Round 1 choice filling and locking process today, July 16. The Round 1 seat allotment result will be announced on July 18.

Candidates who have completed the UPTAC counselling registration and document verification can fill and lock their preferred colleges and courses through the official counselling portal, uptac.samarth.edu.in. Candidates are advised not to wait until the last minute to submit their choices. Those who fail to complete and lock their preferences within the deadline will not be considered for the Round 1 seat allotment process.

UPTAC 2026 Choice Filling: Steps to Complete the Process

To complete the UPTAC Round 1 choice filling, candidates need to:

• Visit the official UPTAC counselling website.
• Log in using the JEE Main 2026 application number and password.
• Select preferred institutes and branches in the desired order.
• Arrange the choices carefully based on preference.
• Save and lock the choices before the deadline.
• Download and keep a copy of the locked choices for future reference.

Candidates can fill in as many choices as they wish. Since seat allotment is based on the candidate's JEE Main rank, category and the order of preferences submitted, fill a sufficient number of realistic as well as aspirational choices to improve admission chances.

What After UPTAC Round 1 Choice Filling 2026?

After the choice filling window closes today, AKTU will process the round 1 seat allotment based on candidates' merit, category and preferences. The UPTAC 2026 round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on July 18. Candidates allotted a seat will have to choose either the Freeze or Float option and pay the seat acceptance fee within the prescribed schedule to confirm participation in the counselling process.
