Uttar Pradesh BTech Admissions: UPTAC Counselling 2026 Soon; APAAR ID is Mandatory to Apply

Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) will begin soon. The admission to BTech courses will be based on JEE Mains ranks 2026. This year, there are some new changes to the counselling process. Check details below.

Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has mandated the use of APAAR ID for the upcoming UPTAC counselling process. The candidates who wish to apply for the counselling process have been instructed to generate their APAAR ID in advance. The counselling registration process will commence soon in the coming days at uptac.samarth.edu.in.

The notice by AKTU reads "APAAR ID is mandatory for Application to UPTAC 2026. Candidates are advised to generate APAAR ID well in advance."

This year, AKTU has shifted the counselling website from uptac.admissions.nic.in to uptac.samarth.edu.in.

While the information brochure for the counselling process has been uploaded, the registration process has yet to start.

UPTAC is held for degree-level engineering institutions and other professional colleges. The counselling process includes registrations, document upload & verification, filling in their choices, checking the allotted seats, submitting their willingness, and paying the seat confirmation fee. To complete the admission process, candidates also have to physically report after the online UPTAC counselling 2026 concludes.
