Speaking after the Cabinet meeting, CM Khandu said, “Our youth are our most valuable asset. This policy is not just a document — it’s a commitment to give them the skills, opportunities, and values they need to shape Arunachal’s future.”

The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has approved the Arunachal Pradesh State Youth Policy 2025, a comprehensive roadmap aimed at harnessing the potential of the state’s young population through structured interventions in education, skill development, and social engagement.

The policy envisions quality education, sustainable employment, and entrepreneurial opportunities for youth, along with promoting innovation, sports, culture, and civic responsibility. A key feature is its inclusive approach — partnering government departments, NGOs, community-based organizations, and youth groups to ensure effective implementation.

According to state officials, the policy also prioritizes the preservation of Arunachal’s rich cultural heritage and biodiversity while encouraging youth to actively participate in building a just and inclusive society. In line with this, the Cabinet approved creation of 18 new faculty posts at Donyi Polo Government College, besides appointing principals to government colleges in Kamki, Palin, Roing, and Tawang to strengthen higher education leadership.

Social welfare reforms were also cleared, including relaxing eligibility for disability pensions under the Chief Minister’s Social Security Scheme, ensuring broader coverage for vulnerable groups.

Education observers note that the youth policy complements ongoing initiatives such as Mission Shiksha, which focuses on literacy enhancement, and the Saksham activity centre, designed to foster experiential learning in science, technology, and creative arts.

Speaking after the Cabinet meeting, CM Khandu said, “Our youth are our most valuable asset. This policy is not just a document — it’s a commitment to give them the skills, opportunities, and values they need to shape Arunachal’s future.”

With its emphasis on skill training, sports promotion, and institutional strengthening, the Youth Policy 2025 is expected to serve as a model for other North-Eastern states aiming to balance development with cultural preservation.
