The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) have jointly announced the launch of a Post Graduate Diploma in Unmanned Aircraft System Programming (PG-DUASP) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India.

This initiative by C-DAC and NIELIT is part of the approved project “Capacity Building for Human Resource Development in Unmanned Aircraft System (Drone and Related Technology)”, in collaboration with IIITDM Kurnool.

Participating Institutes

Below training centres will offer the PG-DUASP programme -

  • C-DAC Centres: Pune, Hyderabad, Noida, Bengaluru, Patna
  • NIELIT Centres: Aurangabad (MH), Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Imphal, Srinagar/Jammu

Course Focus

The PG-DUASP combines theoretical and practical training to equip professionals for the fast-evolving drone industry. Main focus areas are:

  • Understanding UAS/Drone technologies and DGCA guidelines for drone operations in India
  • Hands-on experience with sensors and IoT tools
  • Principles of UAS/Drone design and prototyping
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS), data analytics, and visualisation for drone applications
  • Real-world use cases in surveying and mapping, infrastructure inspection, healthcare, agriculture, and other sectors

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have scored 55% or above in any of the following degrees/qualifications:

  • BE/B.Tech (10+2+4 or 10+3+3) in any discipline
  • MSc/MS in Computer Science, IT, or Electronics
  • MCA/MCM
  • Postgraduate degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Postgraduate degree in Management with a graduation in IT, Computer Science, or Computer Applications

This program aims to develop an expert workforce capable of designing, programming, and implementing drone-based solutions for various industrial applications. Eligible applicants are advised to visit the official C-DAC and NIELIT websites for admission schedules and application processes.

Q:   What are the courses that C-DAC offers?
A:

CDAC offers PG Diploma, ME/MTech, Diploma and Certificate courses. It offers over 35 programmes across different specialisations or disciplines. C-DAC Pune admission to the courses is entrance-based. Aspirants must check out the eligibility requirements of the desired course before submitting application.
