The Consortium of NLUs will conduct the national-level CLAT 2022 exam on May 8. The scores of the exam will be used for admission to 5-year integrated LLB and one-year LLM courses offered by the 22 participating NLUs. To get a good rank is important for the candidate to get admission into one of the top NLUs, like NLSIU Bangalore and NALSAR. Here are some CLAT 2022 section-wise exam preparation tips to help candidates ace the exam.
The CLAT 2022 exam will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode and will be of two hours duration. The application form for the exam is currently open.
The consortium has released the CLAT 2022 syllabus and exam pattern on its official website. The CLAT question paper will include the following topics.
- English Language
- Current Affairs, including General Knowledge
- Legal Reasoning
- Logical Reasoning
- Quantitative Techniques
Subject-wise CLAT 2022 exam preparation strategy
English Language
- Read newspapers on a daily basis.
- Do group discussion with peers on current and historical topics of significance.
- Ensure your grammar is up to the mark. Practice problem sets.
- Work on your vocabulary.
Current Affairs, including General Knowledge
- The questions asked in this section will be based on passages drawn from news editorials and columns. The trick is not to remember a topic, but to understand the ideas, themes, and how they interact. Meaning, you need to build an inquisitive and analytical mind.
- Make it a habit of reading editorials and columns of leading dailies like the Indian Express and the Hindu.
- You may also read leading magazines like the Chronicles and India Today.
Legal Reasoning
- This section will test your ability to apply rules to a factual context depending on the constraints given in the passage. You can practice these skills by reading newspapers, magazines and blogs.
- Note that you don’t need knowledge of the law to answer questions in this section.
- Learn how to apply general principles and propositions to derive solutions to a given problem.
Logical Reasoning
- To prepare for this section, remember that it is not rote-learning that will help, but rather your reasoning abilities, and your ability to draw conclusions from factual context given in the passage.
- Practice previous years’ papers to learn about the types of questions asked.
- Solve sample papers and practice syllabus-based problem sets as much as you can.
Quantitative Techniques
- The difficulty level of this section will be of 10th standard.
- Solve problems given in NCERT books; refer to the CLAT 2022 syllabus for ideas about which topics to practice.
