CLAT Application Process 2026: The Consortium of National Law Universities is all set to begin CLAT 2026 Application Process 2026 on August 1, 2025. Candidates must ensure they fill the CLAT 2026 Application Form on or before the last date. The last date to fill CLAT 2026 Application Form is October 31, 2025. The CLAT 2026 Exam Date is December 7, 2025. CLAT 2026 Application Process can be completed by visiting the official website, i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Only candidates who submit the CLAT 2026 Application Form on or before the deadline will be issued a CLAT 2026 Hall Ticket. Without CLAT Admit Card 2026 candidates wont be allowed to appear in exam.

With just two days remaining before the process begins, here’s what you need to keep in mind to avoid common pitfalls and ensure a smooth application journey.

Do’s: How to Apply For CLAT 2026 Correctly

  • Prepare Documents in Advance: Have your 10th/12th or LLB mark sheets, photo, signature, and ID proofs (Aadhaar, passport, etc.) ready in the prescribed formats before you begin the application
  • Register Early: Register on the official portal (consortiumofnlus.ac.in) on or soon after August 1. This increases chances of getting your preferred interview/test centre.
  • Save Progress Regularly: The form allows you to save your progress. Ideal if you need a break or are waiting for documents, just don’t forget to return and submit before the deadline
  • Follow File Size & Format Rules: Ensure uploads follow CLAT specifications: photograph ≤ 500 KB (JPEG), signature ≤ 100 KB (JPEG), and certificates in PDF format. Blurry or oversized uploads can lead to rejections
  • Double-Check Details Before Payment: Review name spellings, DOB, verification details, and exam centre preferences before paying. It must be noted that changes after submission aren’t always allowed.
  • Download & Safeguard Confirmation Page: You’ll receive confirmation of your application. Download and save a copy; this is required for Admit Card access later.

 Don’ts: Mistakes to Avoid

  • Don’t delay to the last minute: Avoid registration during the final days when the portal may slow down — plus, help desks may be overloaded
  • Don’t reuse incorrect data from previous years: Always update your personal and academic info accurately; recycling old records can cause errors or rejection.
  • Don’t ignore the correction window: If needed, look out for the short correction window after form submission, especially for uploading a blurred photo or wrong centre selection. But many fields may remain locked after submission.
  • Don’t skip reading the official instructions: Admission rules and scheduling nuances may change each year. Read the CLAT notification in full before proceeding. Minimal but critical differences are possible.
  • Don’t assume centre preference guarantees assignment: CLAT exams are held across 130+ cities, but centres fill up quickly. Choose wisely and reasonably based on your location and commute comfort.
