CLAT Result 2026: The Allahabad High Court has directed the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) to revise and republish the CLAT 2026 merit list. The order comes amidst the ongoing CLAT 2026 counselling process, after the court identified an incorrect evaluation of a disputed question. The Allahabad HC bench of Justice Vivek Saran J, has given the judgment during the case Avneesh Gupta (Minor) vs. Consortium of National Law Universities. The petitioner (Avneesh) in his petition has allegedly highlighted that the Consortium of NLUs has not considered his three objections during the objection window and published the CLAT 2026 final answer key without considering his objections.

The petitioner, Avneesh Gupta, has argued that despite the expert committee supporting his answers, the final answer key of CLAT 2026 exam did not mention the corrections. Due to this, his rank went down, which hampered his admission chances to his desired institute.

CLAT 2026 Result to Revise: Arguments Highlights

The argument between the consortium and the court includes the following highlights:

  • The Consortium claimed that because their main office is registered in Karnataka, only a court in that state should have the power to judge them.
  • The Court’s Counter-Argument explained that since the student lived in and took the exam in Uttar Pradesh, the "action" (the exam and the alleged error) happened right there, and the court can pass the judgment regarding the matter.
