National Law University Odisha starts mental health initiatives

National Law University Odisha (NLUO) announced that the Art of Living Organisation will conduct one of its most popular campus programs called - YESPLUS program from today, September 7 to September 10, 2022.

The program is open to all the students of NLUO. Those who participate in the program will be given attendance in case they miss any of the classes at the respective time. Also, a certificate will be awarded to all the students who successfully complete the program. "We would encourage all of you to take advantage of this opportunity," stated NLUO notification.

The modules in the program combine mind-body practices with interactive discussions, and experiential processes and are proven to improve the overall performance of youth by enhancing their memory & concentration, interpersonal skills and ability to perform under pressure. Several prestigious universities/institutes across the globe such as Harvard, Stanford, Cornell, Berkeley, Purdue, MIT, IITs, IIMs, NIFT, and XLRI have partnered with the art of living organisation to nurture a stress-free holistic environment for education. 

Moreover, the Health and Wellness Committee has announced its collaboration with ANUBHAV: The Positive Psychology Clinic on a continuation program on positive mental health.

The workshop will be organised for two days from September 24 to September 25, 2022. ANUBHAV is a renowned organization providing excellent support in the field of mental health, counselling, training and capacity building for the past 25 years, all over India and abroad. The organization consists of a team well-experienced in workshops, driven by their goal of facilitating better mental health among individuals.

This program will act as a continuation of the Trauma and Stress Management workshop which was held in March 2022 at the campus. This two-day program will seek to reach out to the students at a personal as well as a group level to address their issues and difficulties and help them to provide the needed psychological support. The workshop will also deal with the sensitive issue of self-harm and its effect on positive mental well-being and will attempt to help the students tackle this issue. Certificates will be provided to all participants. The last date to register is September 22, 2022.
