The UPES AR/VR Legal Simulation Lab is a unique initiative in legal academics worldwide. Intended to transform traditional legal education, the lab will provide comprehensive simulations for law students, allowing them to improve fundamental soft skills, gain courtroom experience, and engage in high-impact learning experiences through moot court and litigation simulation.
The UPES School of Law has launched the first-of-its-kind Augmented Reality/ Virtual Reality (AR/VR) legal simulation lab on the premises. In order to improve and transform legal education in India, this state-of-the-art facility has been inaugurated at the university premises. Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Former Minister of Law & Justice, India, was the chief guest of the event, who also inaugurated the simulation lab at UPES School of Law.

With the launch of the AR/VR Legal Simulation Lab, we are pushing the boundaries of legal education and embracing a future-forward, technology-integrated approach to learning. Our students will now experience legal practice in a near-real environment, preparing them more holistically for the profession. This lab also reflects UPES School of Law’s commitment to leading innovation in legal academia,” said Abhishek Sinha, Dean of School of Law at UPES.
Other than training the students, the lab will also initiate the faculty development programme (FDP), particularly in the areas like communication, negotiation and other soft skills crucial for effective legal practice and teaching.
