Global Media Common Entrance Test 2026 ( GMCET )

The GMCET 2026 Application Form will soon be released by Global Media Education Council (GMEC) at gmcet.org. The tentative date for release of GMCET registration form is first week of September 2025. Candidates who wish to gain admission to their desired undergraduate course through GMCET 2026 must fill out and submit GMCET online form 2026.

The GMCET form will be released in online mode only. Candidates will have to submit their application form by paying the GMCET application fee via Credit Card/ Debit Card/Net Banking or UPI. The last date to fill the application form will be announced by GMEC.

Before filling the GMCET application form, applicants have to register themselves on the website by providing their names, mobile numbers, email addresses, state, district, UG or PG program, and course. After registration, a username and password will be generated which will be used to fill out the detailed form.

GMCET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by Global Media Education Council to fill application form for GMCET 2026. As per GMCET eligibility criteria, candidates must have a minimum education qualification of Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent education with a minimum aggregate of 50% for the General Category & 45% for SC/ST/OBC, OR candidates should be appearing for Higher Secondary (10+2) or any equivalent education. Candidates with a three or four-year diploma from a recognized university approved by AICTE with a minimum of 50% marks can also apply for the entrance exam.

Global Media Common Entrance Test is an all South Asia entrance examination that offers admission of qualified candidates to undergraduate media courses. GMCET 2026 Admission Process

As per the admission process of GMCET, candidates need to first fill in the application form in online mode. All shortlisted candidates will get a common merit rank (All India Rank). The result for GMCET 2026 will be declared tentatively in the first week of August 2026. The declared GMCET result will entitle the candidate for enrolment into the course, subject to verification of their documents. After the result is declared, eligible candidates will have to complete the admission formalities and pay the course fee to book their seats.

The GMCET 2026 exam will be conducted in online mode, tentatively in the last week of July 2026. Candidates could appear from their laptops or desktops and were given a time slot to appear for the exam. They will have to appear at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the examination. The test slots for the exam day are informed a day before the examination on the registered email and mobile number of the candidate, which they have submitted during the application form filling process. 

GMEC will release the GMCET admit card, 48 hours before the exam date on the official website.

Q:   Can I correct the GMCET application form after submission?

Unlike other exams where they exam conducting authorities provide a window for a few days to edit and make some corrections in the application form. GMCET doesn't provide the same. Once the GMCET application form is submitted then it cannot be edited. Hence, aspirants are advised to fill their application form carefully and update each information after cross checking it and also go through the detailed application form before clicking on the final submission.

Q:   What is GMCET 2026 total marks?

The question paper of GMCET entrance exam 2026 will have 4 sections. Each section will include 25 questions. The marking scheme for the entrance test is 1 mark for every corrrect answer. So, the total marks for GMCET 2026 exam is 100.

How to Fill GMCET Application Form 2026?

Candidates will have to follow the steps below to successfully fill out the application form for the GMCET entrance exam 2026.

Register for GMCET Exam

Primarily, candidates will have to register themselves on the official website of the GMCET by providing all the required details such as their full name, mobile number, and email address. They will also have to fill in their state and the district and click on submit. Candidates have to make sure that the given information is valid and correct. Once registration is done, an automated email with a Username and password will be sent to the candidate's registered email ID/Phone Number for future reference.

Pay GMCET Application Fee

After registration, candidates will have to use their credentials to log in to the portal. to complete the payment by clicking on Pay Now. Candidates have to proceed to the payment portal and choose Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking or UPI as per their choice. 

Submit GMCET Application Form

After completing the fee payment step successfully, candidates will receive the application form summary on their GMCET profile page as well as on their registered email ID. Candidates are required to download the application form summary & save it for future reference.

There is no such provision to select the exam centre of GMCET while filling the application form. The GMCET exam is conducted in online mode and students can give the exam from the comfort of their home using their personal laptop or deskptop with good internet facility. The exam day instructions and guidelines will be intimated to students one day prior to the exam on their email address and mobile number which they used while registering on the official website.

Q:   When will the GMCET 2026 result be declared?

The GMCET result 2026 will be released tentatively in the first week of August 2026. The Global Media Education Council will declare the result on the official website: gmcet.org. The result will be declared merit-wise like (The all India Ranking). GMCET 2026 Application Fee

To successfully submit the application form for GMCET 2026, candidates must pay GMCET 2026 application fee of INR 1000. It can be paid online through Debit/Credit card, UPI, or Net banking. The GMCET application fee is non-refundable. This means, once a candidate pays application fee, it will not be refunded to their account.

Once the candidate pays GMCET application fee, as soon as authorities receives the payment, the candidate's GMCET application 2026 will be confirmed, and a confirmation email declaring successful registration will be sent to the candidate. Only candidates who will successfully submit the application form will be able to download the GMCET admit card and appear for the GMCET 2026 exam.

Unlike other entrance examinations, there are no interviews for the Global Media Common Entrance Test  (GMCET) exam. The admisison process of the Global Media Common Entrance Test consists of registration, filling out the application form, appearing for the examination, and qualifying it. As per their result, candidates will be given an AIR ranking and as per the ranking these qualified candidates will have to appear for the document verification process and submit the fee of the college/university they have been allotted.

The GMEC has not yet made any official announcement related to the exam dates for GMCET 2026 exam. However, it is expected to begin in the last week of July 2026. The mode of entrance test is online. Students will get one hour to complete the exam.
