Jamia Millia Islamia induction 2024 for newly admitted BDS students was held in accordance with the UGC guidelines and aimed to prepare them for their roles as future dental surgeons.

Jamia Millia Islamia's (JMI) Faculty of Dentistry conducted a three-day Student Induction Programme, "Deeksharambh-2024," for the first-year Bachelor of Dentistry students. The event was conducted in accordance with UGC guidelines where the Faculty, through the induction programme, educated the students for their roles as future dental surgeons.

The chief guest of the event, Prof. Mohd. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar of JMI addressed and congratulated the students and expressed confidence that JMI's faculty will soon be among the top 5 dental institutes in the country. Dr. Shakir Khan, an alumnus of the Faculty of Dentistry, JMI shared the challenges and triumphs of his journey and motivated the students to give their best in order to carve a beautiful future.

BDS Curriculum Introduced 

In the second session, the BDS curriculum was introduced to students by Professors Dalvinder Singh and Deborah Sybil highlighting the attitude, ethics, and communication skills along with the programme's creative arena. The students were given a comprehensive tour of the M.A.K. Pataudi Stadium to wrap off the day. Further, the Anti-ragging workshop was conducted and 184 students attended the workshop. 

The final day included a session on the importance of personal grooming and work ethics in dental education and practice, an inherent aspect of a healthcare professional's life. The three-day event culminated in a workshop on ‘Gender Sensitisation- Understanding Gender’ which was attended by 171 students from all years. Meanwhile, the student induction program was attended by 47 students of the first-year BDS programme.
