MBBS Fees in Odisha Private Colleges Increased by 75%; Know Institute-wise Revised Fees

Medical education in Odisha is set to become more expensive, with private medical colleges announcing a steep hike in tuition fees. MBBS course fees at Hi-Tech Medical College Bhubaneswar, DRIEMS Medical College Cuttack, and Hi-Tech Medical College Rourkela have been increased by nearly 75%, along with a rise in PG medical course fees.
Medical Education in Odisha: Private medical colleges in Odisha have announced a steep fee hike in the MBBS and PG medical courses by approximately 75 percent. Pursuing MBBS in Odisha private medical colleges is set to become significantly costlier, as three institutions, i.e. Hi-Tech Medical College Bhubaneswar, DRIEMS Medical College Cuttack, and Hi-Tech Medical College Rourkela, have announced a steep hike in their tuition fees. The sudden increase is expected to place an additional financial burden on aspiring medical students seeking to pursue the MBBS programme. Further, a hike in Odisha PG medical course fees is also going to be implemented by the aforementioned medical institutes of Odisha state.
Odisha Govt Approves Revised Fee Structure for Medical Colleges
The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Authority has released the Odisha revised fee structure for medical education following a notification from the Department of Skill Development and Vocational Education. The institute-wise revised fee structure is provided below:

The government approved this fee hike under the Odisha Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission & Fixation of Fee) Act, 2007, based on the recommendations made by the Fee Structure Committee in its meetings held in November 2023, September 2024, as reported by Medical Dialogues.

NEET 2025 cutoff percentile for general category students is 50th percentile. Based on this, the NEET cutoff score 2025 for the General category is 686-144. The NEET 2025 cutoff for the General category candidates of the Physically Handicapped (PH) or the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWBD) category candidates is 45 percentile. The subsequent NEET cutoff marks for this category is 143-127. Although the NEET cutoff percentile for the General category has remained the same, the cutoff score reduced from that of last year. This is due to factors such as tougher difficulty level, and lower number of test-takers.
