NEET Re-Exam 2026: National Testing Agency has announced that Indian Air Force will be engaged to transport NEET UG 2026 re exam question papers for first time. This aimed at strengthening security arrangements and ensuring smooth conduct of NEET UG scheduled for June 21. NTA Director General Abhishek Singh shared information while virtually attending a meeting chaired by Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to review preparations for NEET UG 2026 re-exam.
According to officials, involvement of Indian Air Force reflects importance being given to maintaining security and integrity of exam process. More than 22 lakh candidates are expected to appear for NEET UG re-examination.

NEET June 21 re-exam will be conducted under enhanced security protocols following cancellation of original NEET UG 2026 exam due to allegations of a paper leak. Authorities have introduced multiple safeguards to prevent any irregularities.

The NEET UG exam comprises Physics, Chemistry and Biology sections. There are a total 180 questions in the exam. The exam carries 720 marks. The section wise-wightage of these three sections is shared below-
NEET Physics- 45 questions (180 marks)
NEET Chemistry- 45 questions (180 marks)
NEET Biology (Botany & Zoology)- 90 questions (360 marks)
The NEET exam is conducted offline in pen and paper mode. The NEET exam pattern is as such-
- There are 180 MCQs.
- 45 are from Physics, 45 from Chemistry and 90 from Biology (Botany and Zoology).
- Each question is of 4 marks.
- The total marks are 720.
- The exam duration is 3 hours.
There will be no sectional qualifying criterion for NEET 2025. NTA releases overall qualifying marks or cutoff marks for each category. The overall marks will be considered while preparing the rank list for NEET. But to ensure a good score, candidates must ensure a high number of attempts with full accuracy. A skewed performance might hamper the overall marks obtained in NEET.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had earlier stated that Indian Air Force would assist in transporting question papers for re-NEET. He said this decision was taken keeping in mind logistical and security requirements, especially considering weather conditions during June. NEET 2026 re-examination is scheduled to be held on June 21 across India. The exam is being conducted again after the earlier test was cancelled, affecting more than 22 lakh candidates.
