The National Test Agency is likely to conduct the NEET 2026 exam in the first week of May 2026, in 13 languages. According to the NEET exam pattern, there will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating the total marks of a candidate. Hence, if candidates are not sure about the answer of a question, it is better to leave it unattempted rather than doing a guess work, to avoid negative marking. Also, candidates are advised to revise the NEET exam sheet or OMR sheet thoroughly before submitting it to the invigilators to avoid negative marking due to silly mistakes.
The question types in the NEET question paper is objective and multiple-choice type. Each question carries four answer options. The difficulty level of the questions range from moderate to tough. The questions are asked from the prescribed NEET syllabus. Since NEET is a paper-pencil-based test (PBT), test-takers are given OMR sheet wherein they have to mark the correct answer option through blue or black ballpoint pen provided at the exam centre. While leaving the exam centre, candidates will have to submit the test booklet or the OMR sheet and rough sheet booklet to the invigilator. They will be allowed to carry the NEET question paper with them, outside the exam hall.
In the year 2018, NEET Hindi question papers had four sets, which were K, L, M and N. The questions were printed in both Hindi and English and candidates could refer to any of the language questions for clarity and a better understanding of a term or a question. NEET Hindi Question Paper Pattern and Structure
The NEET Hindi question paper pattern is the same as that of the English paper, as per the prescribed NEET exam pattern. However, knowing the questions in Hindi medium helps students in what to expect from the NEET 2026 question paper. The NTA changed the NEET pattern in 2025 to the pre-COVID year pattern. The total number of questions are now fixed at 180, which are mandatory to attempt. The duration of the exam has been reduced from 200 to 180 minutes. Each question of NEET carries four marks. There are generally four Sets of NEET question papers, which are further segregated into six parts. However, in NEET 2025, there were four sets of the NEET question paper, which were named as 45, 46, 47, and 48, and these were not further divided into six subsets, which was followed till the previous year. The names of the NEET 2024 question paper Sets and codes are Q, R, S and T. For the NEET 2024 re-exam, the question paper sets were A, B, C and D. The multiple Sets and codes in the NEET question papers ensure that there is no malpractice in the conduct of the exam. The names of the Sets and codes of the regional NEET question papers are different from the English ones. While distributing the question papers of NEET invigilators had to ensure that they did not give the same set of question papers to two consecutive candidates. Once candidates are given the NEET question paper by invigilators, they need to check whether the question paper and test booklet, or answer sheet, is of the same code. In case of a mismatch, they need to bring the matter to the invigilator's notice. In case they submit the NEET test booklet with a different code from that of the NEET question paper, their exam will stand cancelled.
According to NEET pattern, the question paper for the candidates who have chosen Hindi as the medium will be bilingual. The second language of the question paper will be English. In case candidates have any doubts regarding a particular question or term, they can refer to the English questions. Candidates choosing the NEET question paper medium as Hindi must ensure that they have received the Hindi language question paper in the exam hall. In case they receive English or any other regional language question paper, they must report the matter to the invigilator and get it changed immediately. In case they start solving the NEET question paper of a different language and report it later, it may be considered redundant.

There is no change in the NEET 2026 syllabus. The NMC published the NEET syllabus for 2026 on December 23, 2025. As per the latest syllabus PDF, no new chapter has been added and there is no deletion of chapter as well.
