The NEET exam is conducted offline in pen and paper mode. The NEET exam pattern is as such-
- There are 180 MCQs.
- 45 are from Physics, 45 from Chemistry and 90 from Biology (Botany and Zoology).
- Each question is of 4 marks.
- The total marks are 720.
- The exam duration is 3 hours.
According to NEET pattern, the question paper for the candidates who have chosen Hindi as the medium will be bilingual. The second language of the question paper will be English. In case candidates have any doubts regarding a particular question or term, they can refer to the English questions. Candidates choosing the NEET question paper medium as Hindi must ensure that they have received the Hindi language question paper in the exam hall. In case they receive English or any other regional language question paper, they must report the matter to the invigilator and get it changed immediately. The NTA has introduced the given changes for NEET UG 2026 Re exam-
- The NTA extends exam duration. The re-exam will be held from 2:00 to 5:15 PM.
- The NTA has increased the rough work space to 4 pages.
- The NTA redesigns the question paper booklet by adding two rough pages just after the introduction.
Aspirants should start solving the NEET question papers at least six months prior to the exam. Prior to solving the previous years NEET question papers, they should complete the NEET syllabus completely. Students may also solve sectional portions from the NEET question paper after completing the preparation for each subject. Yes, the NEET 2025 exam pattern was changed. NTA announced the change in the exam pattern on January 25, 2025, to enable candidates prepare accordingly. The optional questions were removed. Instead of 200 questions, there were 180 questions. The total duration of NEET 2025 was reduced from 200 minutes to 180 minutes or three hours now.
The NEET exam carries negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. Candidates should mark their answers carefully in the exam to avoid the penalty.
Sometimes due to lack of conceptual understanding, or silly mistakes students tend to choose the wrong option as answer which results in the low scores. Students who get low score in NEET mock tests or question papers should identify the problem or weak areas and work on them for improvement.
There will be bonus marking or extra marks awarded to NEET candidates only if there is a discrepancy in the NEET answer key. Clarifying the same, NTA has stated:
1. If more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
2. If all options are found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
3. If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped then all candidates who have appeared will be given four marks (+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

No, the National Testing Agency (NTA) does not release NEET answer keys and question papers together. While releasing the NEET provisional result, NTA releases candidates' OMR sheets. The final NEET answer key is released in the form of a single PDF document, carrying the keys for all sets of the NEET question papers. The hardcopy of the NEET question papers are given by NTA on the day of the exam. Being a paper-pencil based test, candidates are allowed to carry the question papers outside the exam hall. In general, NTA releases the NEET question papers of previous years on its official website few months after the exam is conducted. NTA has released the NEET 2023 question papers of English and Hindi languages. However, the NEET 2022 question papers are not available on the official website yet. It is expected that the question papers of NEET 2022 will be released soon.
