Even though the NEET 2025 syllabus has remained the same as last year, the NEET exam pattern was revised. Unlike the last couple of years, the 20 optional questions will not be provided, making the total number of questions go down from 200 to 180. Moreover, the total duration of NEET 2025 has been reduced from 200 minutes to 180 minutes.
Hence, students appearing for NEET 2025 must refer to the previous years' NEET question paper PDF download in English with answers given on this page to prepare appropriately. According to the NEET exam pattern, there will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating the total marks of a candidate. Hence, if candidates are not sure about the answer of a question, it is better to leave it unattempted rather than doing a guess work, to avoid negative marking. Also, candidates are advised to revise the NEET exam sheet or OMR sheet thoroughly before submitting it to the invigilators to avoid negative marking due to silly mistakes.
The question types in the NEET question paper is objective and multiple-choice type. Each question carries four answer options. The difficulty level of the questions range from moderate to tough. The questions are asked from the prescribed NEET syllabus. Since NEET is a paper-pencil-based test (PBT), test-takers are given OMR sheet wherein they have to mark the correct answer option through blue or black ballpoint pen provided at the exam centre. While leaving the exam centre, candidates will have to submit the test booklet or the OMR sheet and rough sheet booklet to the invigilator. They will be allowed to carry the NEET question paper with them, outside the exam hall.

NEET 2023 Question Papers in English
In English the question papers of 2023 had four sets E, F, G, and H. Each of these sets was divided into six codes or sub-sets. The questions are same in all the NEET question papers, the order of the questions and the answer options are arranged differently to avoid malpractices.
There are generally four Sets of NEET question papers, which are further segregated into six parts. However, in NEET 2025, there were four sets of the NEET question paper, which were named as 45, 46, 47, and 48, and these were not further divided into six subsets, which was followed till the previous year. The names of the NEET 2024 question paper Sets and codes are Q, R, S and T. For the NEET 2024 re-exam, the question paper sets were A, B, C and D. The multiple Sets and codes in the NEET question papers ensure that there is no malpractice in the conduct of the exam. The names of the Sets and codes of the regional NEET question papers are different from the English ones. While distributing the question papers of NEET invigilators had to ensure that they did not give the same set of question papers to two consecutive candidates. Once candidates are given the NEET question paper by invigilators, they need to check whether the question paper and test booklet, or answer sheet, is of the same code. In case of a mismatch, they need to bring the matter to the invigilator's notice. In case they submit the NEET test booklet with a different code from that of the NEET question paper, their exam will stand cancelled.

- Read multiple times [with learning assessment] Learning through writing.
- Revise as many times as possible.
- Test yourself in an exam stress environment.
- Be mentally prepared for the exam day.
- Revise regularly and never wait for the last-minute revision of the syllabus you covered for the exam. Regularly revise what you have studied and check your preparation level by taking tests. If you keep revising the topics and concepts weekly or fortnightly, you can save a lot of time for the final revision.
No, the NEET exam or NEET question paper does not have any optional questions. Although there used to be 20 optional questions in total in between the years 2022 and 2024, but 2025 onwards, the optional questions in NEET were removed as part of the revision or change in the NEET exam pattern as per the pre-COVID era. Hence, the NEET 2025 question paper will not carry any optional questions, and will have 360 mandatory questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
