NEET 2026 Latest News: A 31-member Parliamentary Standing Committee on education, women, children, youth and sports has called National Testing Agency, the education ministry and the Union health ministry for a June 1 meeting to discuss pen-and-paper examinations versus computer-based testing (CBT). The top parliament panel will meet and discuss issues faced by students related toΒ NEET 2026 being cancelled, the reNEET 2026 and the paper leak controversy. The meetings will focus on bigΒ NEET exam updates and recent CBSE marking errors.Β

NEET Exam Latest News: Big Policy Changes Proposed for NEET Exam
On June 1, the panel will meet with health and education officials to discuss the future of the medical entrance test in India. The panel will talk about using pen-and-paper tests versus computer-based testing.Β
Reportedly, NTA wants to make major shifts in the NEET exam. NTA told the panel that they are planning to introduce an upper age limit in NEET exam. The agency is also planning to limit the number of attempts in NEET from the upcoming session onwards. Right now, there are no such restrictions. The panel will also talk about moving the test from pen and paper mode to CBT from next year. These decisions followed the NEET 2026 exam cancellation decision amid paper leak controversy. The NTA cancelled the May 3 test on May 12, and a re-test is now set for June 21.
In a similar series of events, the panel will also review CBSE's on-screen marking issues following reports of students getting lesser marks in board exams.Β
