Punjab Raises Bond Service Penalty, Extends PG Medical Admission Tenure to 3 Years
Punjab bond service penalty for state quota and All India quota PG medical students has been increased, along with the tenure of bond service for students who fail to fulfil the bond service conditions.
The Punjab Government has revised the bond service penalty and tenure for postgraduate (PG) medical students across the state. The government has revised the Punjab bond service policy and the bond service tenure for candidates if they fail to fulfil the bond service conditions. State quota and All India quota students, other than in service regular PCMS/ PCMS category, have to serve for a period of 3 years and pay the amount of Indemnity bond/ Bank Guarantee of INR 30 Lakh. On the other hand, for All India quota candidates, the bond service period is two years, and the amount of the Indemnity Bond/ Bank Guarantee is INR 20 Lakh.
The Principal Secretary to the Government of Punjab, Department of Medical Education and Research, has issued a notification highlighting the change in the Punjab PG medical bond service panelty and tenure for PG medical admissions, as reported by Medical Dialogues.

Reportedly, the bond service period for state quota students was two years, while the bond service tenure for All India quota students was one year. The state government has also increased the service bond amount from INR 20 Lakh to INR 30 Lakh for the state quota candidates. On the other hand, the bond service amount has been increased from INR 15 Lakh to INR 20 Lakh for the All India quota students.
