NBE assures the availability of NEET PG 2021 testing centres to Tamil Nadu, Puducherry candidate as they face issue in choosing option of testing centres in their respective states in the NEET PG 2021 application form.

The National Board of Examination has given assurance that it will try its best to accommodate NEET PG 2021 candidates with their correspondence address in the State of Tamil Nadu and Union Territory of Puducherry and those who have chosen ‘others’ as options within the state or UT if the required number of nodes are available. This comes as a response to the letter written by Madurai MP SU Venkatesan, where he requested NBE, the exam conducting agency to increase the number of examination test centres in the state of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

In a letter dated February 24, Venkatesan sought to increase the number of NEET PG 2021 examination centres in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry as existing exam centres in these two regions were filled in less than four hours after the NEET PG 2021 application window opened for aspirants. He further said that it was difficult for aspirants to choose the option of nearby centres. In the letter, the Member of the Parliament further said that number of examination centres of the neighbouring states too were filled up in the first two days after NEET PG 2021 application started online.

In a reply dated March 3, 2021, NBE Executive Director (ED) Pawanindra Lal said allotment of NEET PG 2021 test centres to candidates with a correspondence address in the same state will depend upon the availability of testing seats. He further said that in case of unavailability of testing centres in any particular state due to any reason, aspirants will be allocated a testing centre in a nearby state. Pawanindra Lal further said that alternate seats have been left vacant for NEET PG 2021 exam amid social distancing norm due to the corona pandemic. As the deadline of the NEET PG 2021 application is approaching fast, the Madurai MP has written to NBE again, seeking clarification on the matter.

Reportedly, he has again requested Pawanindra to accommodate NEET PG 2021 candidates in the same state. Out of a total of 255 NEET PG 2021 examination centres, only 28 are situated in Tamil Nadu which forces candidates to choose centres outside the state.

The NEET PG 2021 exam is conducted annually by the National Board of Examination (NBE) to provide admissions to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/ MS (Master in Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country. NEET PG 2021 exam is scheduled to be held on April 18, 2021, and the result will be declared on May 31, 2021. Candidates can make NEET PG 2021 application online till March 15, 2021. This time NBE has also made some significant changes in the application, exam pattern, and the number of exam centres. Candidates are advised to check NEET PG 2021 dates and key changes in NEET PG 2021 exam.
