Target the NCERT
NCERT books are the go-to books for NEET 2025 preparation. Apart from the fact that most of the preparation can be completed with the help of NCERT books, their concise form makes it easier to complete the syllabus from these books as compared to the bulky reference books.
NEET UG Syllabus is divided among 4 sections- Physics Chemistry Zoology Botany All these 4 sections hold same marks for the examination and all the sections have 45 questions to be attempted in 45 minds itself. The NEET syllabus underwent major changes last year and this year it has remained the same. The NEET syllabus is the same as the Board exam syllabus. Hence, it is mandatory for students to study and prepare Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus thoroughly to complete NEET syllabus. Unlike previous years, the NEET subject-wise syllabus is not segragated into Class 11 and Class 12 topics, and experimental subjects have been added to Physics subject.
The chance of a NEET question coming out of syllabus is low. As per the previous years' analysis, the questions were within the NEET syllabus only and the topics or chapters were evenly distributed. In case candidates encounter any question which is out of the syllabus, they must report it to the invigilator. In case test-takers know the answer and is sure of the accuracy, then they can attempt the question. Otherwise, they should leave the question unattempted. If it is proved that the question is out of NEET 2024 syllabus, NTA would cancel the question and award full marks to the candidates.
Prepare a timetable
A timetable is a must if you want to complete the NEET 2025 syllabus in time. Prepare a detailed timetable that takes into account all the chapters that are included in the syllabus of NEET 2025. Divide the time according to the length and importance of a chapter. Also, take into consideration the time required for solving questions for each chapter. This exercise may take up a day, but it will be worth the time spent.
Start with the basics
As mentioned earlier, always start with NCERT books. But to complete the NEET 2025 syllabus, one needs to do a lot more than complete the theory from NCERT. They need to solve a lot of questions to complete the preparation for a chapter. A tip to ensure that one completes the NEET syllabus in time, start with common questions. These are the questions that have been asked in NEET repetitively for the past few years. These can be found in any book that one is referring to for NEET MCQs. Fix a number of questions that need to be solved for a chapter. Once this number is achieved, move to the next chapter.
Take Mock Tests and analyse the result
Students must start attempting NEET 2025 mock tests only after they have completed around 60 per cent of the syllabus. They can initially leave the questions from the topics that are yet to be covered and keep them out of the analysis. But, for the rest of the section, analyse the reasons for markdowns in the test. Do not procrastinate revising the chapters that were the reason for major markdowns. However, do not get carried away and spend more time than required on revising these chapters.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) had revised the NEET 2024 syllabus. As compared to the previous years' syllabus, some of the topics were removed from each of the three subjects, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In the Biology subject, chapters have been removed in around six units. The following table brings the list of chapters and topics along with the units, which were removed in the NEET 2024 syllabus.

NTA officially releases the NEET syllabus in English. Candidates opting for the exam in Hindi or other regional languages can check their Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus attuned to the NEET syllabus, from their teachers or mentors and request them to provide them with the NEET syllabus 2025 PDF download in Hindi or other regional languages. Hindi medium students can refer to their Board exam syllabus and crosscheck the topics or chapters. Aspirants should also go through previous years' NEET Hindi question papers to understand the question types, topics and difficulty level.
Move to advance books if time permits
Once the syllabus has been completed from the NCERT books and the student has started taking mock tests, they can start referring to other books for NEET 2025 preparation. However, this exercise should be carried out only if there are more than six months for the examination. Picking up a new book just before the examination may lead to confusion and conflicts in the concepts.
Stick to topics of Class 12 level
Many students get overwhelmed during their preparation and start referring to advanced level books for NEET. This way, they end up losing time over things that will not be asked in this examination. Students must remember that the questions in NEET 2024 will be of the Class 12 level only. They are not required to gain BSc-level knowledge of these subjects to clear this examination.
Remember to revise
The last tip on how to complete the NEET syllabus 2025 on time is regular revision. Merely completing the syllabus of NEET 2024 will not yield the desired result. Retention of what is being read is equally important to complete the syllabus of NEET 2025. Thus, regular revision of the chapters that were read earlier is a must.
