CTET 2025 Notification Updates: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has not yet released the CTET 2025 notification. As per media reports, the notification and application form are likely to be issued in August. Amid ongoing speculation, many users on X (formerly Twitter) are anticipating significant changes in the CTET 2025 exam structure starting this year. It is widely believed that the delay in releasing the CTET July 2025 application form is due to these expected reforms.

Till now, the CBSE CTET 2025 has been conducted in online mode as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). It comprises two papers: Paper 1 for Primary Teachers (Classes 1 to 5) and Paper 2 for Elementary Teachers (Classes 6 to 8). Each paper carries 150 marks and consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

CTET May Soon Be Conducted at Four Levels, Says X User; Major Restructuring Likely Under NCTE Act 2025

An X (formerly Twitter) user has claimed that the CBSE is planning to conduct four CTET exams, introducing significant changes in the exam’s structure. Reportedly, under the upcoming NCTE Act 2025, the format of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will undergo major changes.

Until now, CTET was conducted at only two levels: Primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Junior (Classes 6 to 8). However, as per the new format being discussed, CTET may be held at four distinct levels:

1. Pre-Primary (Balvatika)
2. Primary (Classes 1 to 5)
3. Junior (Classes 6 to 8)
4. TGT/PGT (Classes 9 to 12)

The board has not officially confirmed these changes yet.

CTET July 2025 Notification Release Delayed Amid Major Reforms

Once the NCTE Act 2025 is implemented, both 1-year and 2-year B.Ed programmes will be considered valid for teacher recruitment across all four levels, including the primary level, which was earlier reserved exclusively for D.El.Ed. diploma holders.

In parallel, rapid progress is being made on finalising a new syllabus, revised exam format, and updated evaluation system. The CBSE and NCTE are jointly working on this comprehensive restructuring of the CTET framework.
