The State Bank of India (SBI) will conduct SBI Clerk mains exam soon. The mains exam had been postponed by the examination authority due to the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be conducted on April 19. The exam will be conducted for the qualified candidates of the prelims exam. On the basis of SBI Clerk prelims result, candidates 10 times the number of vacancies will be selected for the mains exam. The mains exam of SBI Clerk is little tough to crack. However, with a clear preparation strategy and hard work, candidates will be able to ace the exam. As there is, a nation-wide lockdown and candidates are at home, they are advised to use this time for their preparation.

SBI Clerk 2020 Mains Exam Pattern

Given below is the SBI Clerk mains exam pattern.

  • The exam pattern comprises four sections: General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude.
  • All questions in SBI Clerk mains exam will be objective type.
  • The test paper will have a total of 190 questions.
  • The total marks of the SBI test are 200.
  • The duration of the test is 2 Hours 40 minutes.
  • There are also sectional timings for the exam.
  • 1/4th of the mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • The language of the question paper will in English and Hindi.

How to prepare for SBI Clerk mains exam?

General/Financial Awareness

The General/Financial Awareness section will have 50 questions and total marks are 50. This section will assess the candidate’s General Knowledge, Knowledge of Current Affairs, Financial, or Business Awareness. To ace this section, candidates should read newspapers and magazines. They must refer to the current affairs books.

General English

This section assesses the candidate’s skill in English. Candidates must sound knowledge of Grammar, Vocabulary and Comprehension to score good marks in the exam. Read comprehensions, newspapers and features daily to improve your language skills.

Quantitative Aptitude

Questions in this section are basically asked from Data Interpretation, Data Sufficiency, Quadratic Equation and Probability, etc. Candidates must have good command of their mathematical and calculative skills. This section carries 50 marks. Solve previous years’ question papers, mock tests, and clear your basics and concepts.

Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude

This section assesses the candidate’s critical ability. The topics will cover Coding-Decoding, Puzzle, Number Series, Order and Ranking, Data Sufficiency, Blood-Relation and Direction Sense, etc. This section will be of 60 marks and will have 50 questions. Candidates should practice with mock tests and previous year question papers to get a better understanding of the pattern.
