NIC has also joined hands with AICTE, UGC, and CBSE to facilitate state and central-level examinations such as JEE, UGC/CSIR-NET among others.

The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has teamed up with more than 35 examinations and counselling organisations including the National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA holds the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions to medical (MBBS), dental (BDS), and AYUSH courses in the country. Apart from this, NIC has also joined hands with AICTE, UGC, and CBSE to facilitate state and central-level examinations such as JEE, UGC/CSIR-NET among others. This is touted as one of the biggest steps to enhance the education sector. NIC works under the IT Ministry.

National Testing Agency (NTA) is an autonomous and self-sustained leading testing organisation for holding an efficient, transparent and international standard test in order to access the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions.

NIC provides E-counselling services which work as a one-stop online solution for all counselling, result publications, examinations and admission needs from e-admit card, selection of courses and institutes, fee payment, and e-admit card, etc. NIC offers counselling services to national and state boards such as the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB), the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), the Maulana Azad Medical College, the Centralised Counselling for M.Tech for admissions into over 3000 academic institutions including IITs, NITs, and Central- and state-funded universities/institutions in divisions such as pharmacy, engineering, medical, and management to more than 89 lakh candidates.

Automated systems have made the selection process quite easy. This facilitates admissions according to merit and candidates' likings. Bringing a single registration for numerous courses have considerably reduced time efforts, expenses, and manpower needs.
