RRB NTPC, Group D 2020-21 exams put on hold due to COVID-19; revised schedule to be announced soon

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) in an official notice have informed that RRB NTPC and RRB Group D exams have been held up due to the restrictions imposed due to COVID-19 pandemic. RRBs will announce the further exam schedules once the restrictions are eased.

The official notice issued regarding this reads, “RRBs have notified three Centralized Employment Notifications (CENs), No. 01/2019, No. 03/2019 and No. RRC 01/2019, for various categories. The recruitment process has commenced from December, 2020 after easing of restrictions imposed on account of COVID 19 and is being held in phases.”

“Further scheduling of CBT has been held up because of various restrictions imposed by the affected states due to the spread of Covid-19 pandemic once again. Candidates are hereby informed that further scheduling of examinations will be advised in due course once the restrictions imposed by various states are eased,” the notice further reads.

RRBs is conducting RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam in a phase-wise manner from December 28, 2020. Till now, approximately 1.18 crore candidates had appeared for the exam against a total of 1.25 crore applications. The first phase of RRB NTPC CBT 1 was conducted from December 28, 2020, to January 13, 2021.  The second phase of RRB NTPC CBT 1 was conducted from January 16 to 30, 2021.

The third phase of RRB NTPC CBT 1 was conducted from January 31 to February 12 for 28 lakh candidates. The fourth phase of RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam was conducted from February 15 to March 3. The fifth phase exam was conducted from March 4 to 27. The sixth phase of RRB NTPC exam was conducted on April 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The exam dates for further phases will be announced soon.

RRB Group D 2020-21 exam was scheduled to be conducted from April to June. However, it has been delayed due to the pandemic situation.
