SSC JHT 2025 Update

SSC JHT 2025 Updates: The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC Combined Hindi Translator (Junior Hindi Translator) exam for the recruitment to the post of Junior Hindi Translators or Junior Translators in different departments and ministries under the Government of India. Recently, SSC released a notification revising guidelines and updates on how to fill vacant posts. As per the SSC JHT notification 2025, there have been made some important changes to the original exam notice dated June 5, 2025. These changes relate to eligibility and the process of filling vacant posts.

Important Date for Category and Reservation Benefits

Earlier, it was mentioned that the closing date of the SSC JHT application will be considered the important date to claim benefits like:
  • Reservation (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/ESM)
  • Fee relaxation
  • Age relaxation, etc.
This rule remains the same but has been clarified further.
  • Candidates do not need to have the category certificate issued before the closing date.
  • But they must belong to the category (like SC, ST, OBC, etc.) on the closing date of the SSC JHT application.
For EWS (Economically Weaker Section) candidates, there is a specific condition:
  • They must have an Income & Asset Certificate that is valid for the Financial Year 2025-2026.
  • This certificate should be based on their income from the Financial Year 2024-2025.
  • It must follow the rules given in the DoPT Office Memorandum dated 31.01.2019.

Filling Vacant Posts After Final Results

As of now, SSC does not keep a waiting list for its multi-stage exams like the Combined Hindi Translators Exam. However, it has been noticed that sometimes vacancies remain unfilled after the final SSC JHT results and document verification because some selected candidates don’t join. To solve this problem, SSC is planning to introduce a new scheme:
  • It will allow a single round of post allotment sliding.
  • This means the commission will try to fill leftover vacancies using an extended cut-off after document verification.
  • This new plan will only be implemented if it gets approval from the Government of India.
  • Once approved, full details of the scheme will be shared on SSC’s official website.

No Other Changes

All other rules and conditions in the original notice dated June 5, 2025, for the Combined Hindi Translators Examination remain the same.
