UPPSC PCS 2020 notification issued: Check other exams also

UPPSC postponed some of the exams and will be releasing a new exam calendar for 2020. Read below for details

UPPSC has postponed all the exams because of coronavirus pandemic and the consequent lockdown extension (lockdown 2.0).  Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) will issue a new exam calendar for the remaining year after the Lockdown 2.0 will be over on May 3, 2020.

There are several exams which are pending to be conducted but in the present scenario, it is not possible to conduct any exam till May 30, 2020. The commission will meet after the said dates and decide on the dates of the exams. 

The following are the pending exams which are postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

UPPSC PCS Exam 2020

The UPPSC PCS 2020 notification was released on April 20, 2020 in an offline mode. The UPPSC will issue the PCS 2020 notification online on April 21 at its official website uppsc.up.nic.in. The UPPCS prelims 2020 exam is scheduled to be conducted on June 21. The UPPSC 2020 exam will be conducted with the new rules for the selection of the candidates in the prelims exam. 

Till last year, the number of candidates passing the prelims exam was 18 times the number of vacancies but now as per the new rules, the number of candidates passing the prelims exam will be 13 times only. This new rule will considerably lower the number of candidates in the main exam.

On the other hand, the UPPSC prelims exam will be tougher now. The paper pattern has been changed last year which made the UPPCS exam more unpredictable.

UPPSC PCS Exam 2019

The main exam of the UPPSC PCS exam 2019 was scheduled to be conducted from April 20, 2020. But because of the coronavirus pandemic and the consequent lockdown, the UPPSC had postponed the exam to a future date. The future dates for the UPPSC 2019 main exam will be decided after May 3, 2020.

UPPSC Review Officer (RO) /Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Exam 2016

This exam was cancelled after the evidence and investigations of paper leak. The commission decided to cancel the whole exam and to conduct the prelims exam on May 3, 2020. This is the second most sought after exam after the PCS exam in the state.  Most candidates in the state belong to Hind Medium and this exam has a dedicated paper of Hindi Language at the prelims level. This exam pattern provides an advantage to the Hindi medium candidates.

UPPSC Block Education Officer (BEO) 2019 Exam

The Basic Education officer is the exam related to the education officer at the block level. With the impetus and focus on the education sector, this job has gained importance in recent time. NGOs in the rural education sector has also expanded this job. The UPPSC BEO exam was scheduled to be conducted on March 22, 2020, but it was postponed.

The UPPSC will release the new exam calendar after May 3, 2020, mentioning the news exam dates for UPPSC exam, BEO exam and UPPSC RO exam 2020. Now the UPPSC need to decide whether to delay all the exams or to conduct the scheduled exam first and conduct the postponed exam later.
