UPSC IAS 2020 exam day instructions released. Read below for details.

UPSC IAS 2020 admit card was released on September 1. Along with the Civil Services admit card, the Union Public Service Commission released the exam day instructions for the IAS prelims 2020 exam. These are the revised instructions issued because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The UPSC instructions for the exam day covers all the important aspects and precautions need to be taken care in the times of coronavirus pandemic. The instructions released along with the UPSC IAS admit card 2020 is prescriptive in nature.

The UPSC has released the complete list of dos and don'ts for the IAS prelims 2020 exam day. The candidates need to follow all the instructions given along with their IAS Admit card. The summary of the instruction for IAS prelims 2020 exam is as follows:

COVID-19 pandemic specific instructions

  • All the candidates must wear a mask because it is mandatory, as per the instructions. Candidates with no mask/face cover will not be allowed in the examination venue.
  • The candidate will have to remove the mask for the verification purpose whenever required by the Invigilator
  • The candidates may carry their own hand sanitizer in a small transparent bottle.
  • All the candidates need to follow the norms of ‘social distancing’ and ‘personal hygiene’ inside the examination venue.

General Instructions

  • The candidate should bring the same Government ID proof whose number is mention in the IAS admit card 2020. This clause compelled the candidates to carry the same identity proof which was mentioned in the IAS Application 2020. This will make the UPSC exam process transparent.
  • The UPSC prescribes that the entry to the IAS exam centre will close 10 minutes before the commencement of exam so the candidate should reach the examination venue accordingly. It also prescribes the time of closing of entry for both the session of the IAS prelims exam. For the morning session, the entry will be closed at 9.20 AM and 2.20 PM for the forenoon session.
  • The candidate should reach the IAS exam centre 10 minutes before the scheduled time. This is required to avoid any hassle and also to provide time for frisking of the candidate.
  • All types of electronic devices including mobile, smartwatch, calculator, pen drive, camera, blue tooth device or any other device which can be used for communication during the examination are prohibited in the examination venue. These devices are not allowed in the examination hall, even in the switched-off mode. If any of these or any other communication device is found with the candidate during the examination, disciplinary action will be taken against him/her, which could include the ban from the future examination.
  • The candidates should mark their answers on the OMR sheet with black ballpoint pen only. The answers marked by any other colour pen will not be evaluated.
  • The candidate should check their photograph on the e-admit card and ensure that their photograph is visible. In case their photograph is not clear, the candidate needs to bring two photographs and one government identity proof to appear in the exam with an undertaking.

The above are the most important instructions released along the IAS 2020 admit card. Some of the instructions given are COVID-19 specific and needs special attention. Rest is of general in nature and given each year with the IAS admit card.
