UPSC 2021 notification was released on March 4. The UPSC IAS 2021 exam notification was delayed by 21 days because of the case pending in the Supreme Court (SC) of India. The IAS prelims 2021 exam will be conducted on June 27 as notified earlier. The Union Public Service Commission released the Civil Service (IAS) 2021 exam notification for 712 vacancies. As per the recent year trends, the number of UPSC vacancies has declined. The number of IAS vacancies will be around 180 as in the past years. The rest of the vacancies are declining year after year. The last date to apply for the IAS 2021 exam is March 24.
The UPSC 2021 notification mentions the eligibility criteria, age limit, important dates and vacancies. The candidates must read and understand the IAS eligibility criteria because the candidature of the candidate is provisional till the last moment and it can be cancelled.
The UPSC IAS 2021 applications were also started with the UPSC notification. The UPSC will provide a 20 days window period to the candidates for filling the IAS 2021 applications. The candidates must understand the IAS 2021 notification before filling the IAS applications 2021.

UPSC IAS 2021 Eligibility criteria
The UPSC 2021 notification differs from the previous year notification because some candidates could appear in the IAS exam even when they exhausted their quota of attempts last year but are well below the maximum age limit.

UPSC Vacancies
The number of vacancies notified in the UPSC 2021 notification was 712. In the total around 180 will the IAS and 150 will be IPS vacancies. The rest of the vacancies differs from year to year and the post-wise distribution of UPSC vacancies will be released later by the Department of Personnel.
