IAS Applications 2024 will start in February 2024. The Commission will activate the IAS 2024 application link with the release of an official notification. The Commission will release the IAS 2024 application dates in May. IAS applications 2023 were closed online on February 21 after its activation on February 1. The IAS 2023 applications were activated online on February 1 with the release of official notification. The Union Public Service Commission provided 20 days for filling out the IAS applications 2023. The candidates were required to fill out the IAS form 2023 online only through the IAS apply online link activated under the candidate's login. This year, the candidates were required to read the official notification to ascertain that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions. IAS 2023 exam was conducted on May 28.

- Visit the official website of UPSC- upsconline.nic.in
- Click on the Exam Notifications tab.
- Click on Apply Online link.
- Click on the link available for Civil Services Part-I registration.
- Read the application form instructions carefully and click on Yes.

How to Fill IAS Form 2023?

Most of the details of the IAS application were auto-filled in the UPSC IAS application (through the UPSC registration form).
Step 1: Pay IAS application fee online (through SBI Net Banking/ debit card/ credit card) or offline (by cash through SBI bank challan) mode.
Step 2: Upload scanned images of photograph, signature and photo ID card as per the specifications mentioned below:
Step 3: Enter the following information in the Civil Services(IAS) online application form:

Step 4: Click on the 'I Agree' button after reading the declaration.
Step 5: On clicking the button, a page with a registration number will be generated. Note down the registration number or take a printout of the page.
How to Pay IAS 2023 application fee?
Candidates can pay IAS Exam application fee in online or offline mode.
- Online mode: Candidates can make online payment of application fee via Visa/ Master/ RuPay credit/ debit card or internet banking of SBI.
- Offline mode: Candidates can make offline payment of application fee by paying cash at any branch of SBI. Regarding the same, the official website states, “Applicants who opt for ‘Pay by Cash’ mode should print the system generated pay-in-slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only.” Candidates must note that the ‘Pay by Cash’ mode will be deactivated one day before the application process closes. However, candidates who have generated their pay-in-slip before the process is deactivated can make the payment at any SBI branch during banking hours on the closing date.

Fill IAS Exam Part-II Application Form
To proceed for part-II registration, candidates need to click on the Click Here for Part II link present on the official website of UPSC. On clicking the link, a new page will open wherein candidates need to enter their registration ID as well as their date of birth and click on the Submit button. On clicking the button, Civil Services (IAS) Exam Part-II application form will appear on the screen. Candidates need to enter all asked details and click on the Submit button. It completes the IAS application online.

How to Withdraw IAS Application 2023?
In the official notification, the Commission mentioned that the candidates will not be allowed to withdraw the IAS 2023 applications. Let us see whether the Commission provides such a facility in 2024 or not. In previous years, the candidates could withdraw their IAS exam application by following the steps given below:
- Visit the official website - upsc.gov.in
- Click on the What's new section
- Go to the Withdrawal of Application: Civil Services(Preliminary) Examination
- On the new screen, click on the link given for withdrawal
- Again click on the Application withdrawal link given in the right corner
- Read the instructions and click on the Yes button
- Enter your registration-id and press continue
- Enter the following details:
- Name
- Gender
- Date of Birth
- Fathers Name
- Mothers Name
- Mobile Number
- e-mail id
And select the option for the withdrawal of the application and press agree.
In the above manner, the candidates can withdraw their IAS application.
Note: Candidates have to fill out separate application forms for IAS Preliminary and Mains exams. Also, the official website informs, “In case of any guidance/ information/ clarification regarding their applications, candidature etc candidates can contact UPSC’s Facilitation Counter near gate C of its campus in person or over telephone number 011-23385271/ 011-23381125/ 011-23098543 on working days between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs.”
